Well of course, the holidays are coming and a graphics card is on my wish list. I currently own an BFG 8800 GTS 640mb OC (also i have overclocked it quite a bit over stock) card. I have a 680w Powersupply and am wondering what card would be better then that? I see alot of 9800's that are running similar specs and feel that it would just be the same if I got that just a newer card... I want something thats faster but within my budget of around 200 bucks, is that possible?...or should I consider getting another 8800 GTS 640mb OC and SLI them? I have everything thats possible for SLI (Power supply is SLI and so is Mobo).

Also another huge factor here is does older regular PCI Express motherboards support PCI Express 2.0 or would I have to upgrade the mobo? If I have to upgrade the motherboard then thats not going to happen, I've got a nice Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus motherboard (bios flashed and custom heatsinks on northbridge and southbridge chipsets and can overclock my Quad Q6600 3.6ghz on air stable, not looking to get rid of it.

So obviously heres exactly what I need...

-A graphics card that works with my current setup
-More Powerful then my BFG 8800 GTS 640 OC
-Will not cost me over $250

Hope someone here can help cause im finding myself in quite a hole. Maybe the answer here is to wait for 2.0 to progress and get better afterall the 8800 a year ago was one of the best things to have and still works with all the games I play and can max everything except crysis.

If it works well with all the games you play, why spend money on a new graphics card? Get a DP for your GP instead! wink

Potential solution i suppose, but I still would really like to know if theres a card out there thats better then the 8800 GTS and can be found for around 200 dollars.

personally I would pick up an identical card and set up SLI.

The 9800 is not that big of a jump from the 8800.

I am not sure about the PCI 2.0 question. google it laugh
