Who pays for music?
X2 Yea, some people use torrent and other programs. Problem is some users have scripts that creates a file name based on the search you entered. The file is in fact a virus. It gets annoying after a while going between the fake vs. real. Some people that aren't savy with computers and will be ok in paying $14 a month or 99 cent for a song or two. Matter of convenience. That's their strategy and it seems to be working.
As far as itunes vs. Zune, its a matter of preference. I don't like the itunes as its not for power users and its VERY proprietary. Want to sort by file name? Nope, can't do it. The mp3 must have the artist and song name. Sure you can get aftermarket apps but they're aren't compatible yet with release 2.2.
With Zune, you can use any program and not just windows media player. Also, the sound quality with zune is said to be better based on several review sites. Not saying the ipod has bad sound quality, not by a long shot.
I got an ipod touch as opposed to the other cheaper mp3 players as I wanted to have fun with it and use it for web browsing. Don't regret it. Still, there are cheaper mp3 players out there that offer much better, crisp sound quality even with mp3s. Just not the same cool interface.
