Which one is thought to tbe the cheapest? I always shop at Advance for some reason, though I am partial to O'Reilly's. Maybe there are others.

Always been curious. cheers

Autozone mostly...then advance auto.
O'reilly ONLY if the other two are on fire or don;t have the part available. They always seem to give me the wrong part no matter what.

NAPA has always had the parts that I need in stock, but I think Advance wins it for price.

AutoZone. The only other place around here is Advance, then there's the local Jefferson County Auto parts, which charges about $5 more for everything than the other 2.

AutoZone, because I work there and get a 20% discount. laugh

Price really depends. We have an O'Reilly and Advanced in town, and sometimes people go to our store by mistake after calling one of the others, and we happen to have the same part cheaper (I know one hub bearing was $20 less for this one woman I helped). I have seen some other items come out more, namely O2 sensors. My advice: shop around.

Autozone....

Although it's a tie with Murrays... I don't think we have O'Reily's store around here...

We dont have O'Reilys down here, Advance is always out of the product or it is more expensive than Autozone. So I would choose Autozone.

does it really matter, they all carry the same type and quality of parts for the cars and they all have a price match guarantee. If I buy it at autozone, and O reilly's has it cheaper, then autozone will lower to the same price as autozone. (at least around here they do)

someone once told me the autozone stores started when a couple who started the O reilly stores got divorced, he got the store, so she opened autozone and in every town that has an o reilly, has an autozone (or it might be advance??) don't know if it's true, but it makes sense to me. just my .02 laugh

I don't like the attitudes form the kids working at O'reilly. Always real cocky like they know what they are doing......

I get that everywhere, but it is oddly more prevalent in O'Reilly's.

AutoZone founded in '79 as AutoShack by a guy I believe. Over 1000 stores by '95, over 3000 stores today.

O'Reilly only had less than 200 stores in 1998.

So, if the story has any truth, it's not involved with AutoZone.

Can't stand those chain parts stores. Most of them employ idiots in the wrong positions.

we had one in my hometown, and IIRC they were owned by SEARS, cause they sold craftsman tools there, and SEARS put an end to the whole western auto chain. that's what I was told by the local owner here. and Rook: i heard a story like that, but couldnt remember what store it was, other than o reilly's. gotta admit, if it is true, that would kinda suck though, wouldn't it?
