Mitsubishi has released their new Sports Coupe, the Eclipse. Comes standard on a GT with 263 Horses in its 3.8 V6 engine. Also comes with a 650-watt Sound System . This might provide some challenge to the GP . I went to go scope it out at a mitsu dealer. To be completely honest, I think I likey. Except for the back, the back looks kinda... er... disgusting would be a good word to describe it. Maybe a rear skirt could fix it? dunno, but now I guess mitsu decided to step up on the engine.

You forgot the 6-spd.
I would buy a Stratus R/T in a heartbeat (5spd of course). It's a little slower than the GTP, but similarly equiped.

The new Eclipse is pretty cool looking. I dont think the gas mileage will be that great though. My wife has a Galant 4 cyl. and the gas mileage sucks!!! It has about the same size fuel tank and my GP gets better gas mileage than her 4 bannger. As far as the getting a Charger, not for me, that car should be a 2 door only. I think it looks like crap in a 4 door(IMO).

When I was shopping for a slightly used car a few years ago, it was between an Eclipse and a GP. The GP won out.
I'd still love a 5/6 speed manual tranny though.

My wife had a second gen eclipse. That thing got the best gas mileage I've ever seen. We could go 500 highway miles on one tank of gas, and it wasn't because it had a big fuel tank.

Yay, they stepped up the Eclipse .. I respect it more now, but that design .. Blech. As for the Charger .. http://www.dodge.com/autoshow/charger_srt8/gallery.html SRT-8's not lookin' too bad. In black, it almost looked like a two door until I went to a close up shot.

The SRT8 looks mean as hell. I just think it would look alot better in 2 door.

The Chrysler products don't hold their value as well as the GM one's do. Even Ford retains value better than Chrysler. I do have to admit though that that SRT8 is one bad looking car!

The SRT-8 Charger is under Dodge's name, not Chrysler's, at least this first time around. :p I'm not sure how the price will hold up .. Guess we'll see!
