Very cool if true. I would consider buying one as a second vehicle, even if it's a Mazda.

The rotary engine allows it to switch between gas powered or hydrogen powered, which could make it the first mass produced hydrogen vehicle.

Imagine zero emissions and no dependence on fossil fuels...well someday....

Very cool.
I think, however, that the new E85 / flex-fuel thing is going to take off much easier than the hydrogen. Infrastructure for the E85 is basically already in place, just more stations need to tank it and pump it, while hydrogen would require a whole different setup, I guess.

We really do need to start thinking about oil alternatives, otherwise we're screwed when we run out (or, will prices get so high, we will never run out, and will be forced into hydrogen/___?)

Yes, I agree about the E85 fuel. Even that is better than nothing.
