LOL @ crimpton

Honestly, I kinda like the paintball idea. Especially if you aim low, you won't hit the driver and he won't know what hit him until he stops. Am I say it's a good idea? No, but that doesn't mean I don't like it. :p

"but instead of using a Colt Police Positive .32 caliber revolver , residents are apparently threatening to use paint guns."

eek eek WHAT?!?!? Do they patrol on horse too???

There is no way that's right.

I would assume that is in reference to the first half of that sentence, "Instead of forming a tighter bond with law enforcement, the citizens of Durham decided it was better to take the Charles Bronson approach,"

yea its mixed feelings on the whole paintball gun thing its funny till it happens to you but its stupid to be flyin down a neighborhood street anyway. yea we all are guilty of not obeying the speed limit thats y we mod and tune not to just say we have it but to actually use it against other people. or just to have that adrenailan rush for however we push the pedal. but some people have to learn the hard way to stop what they are doing wrong so the people of the neighborhood are taking their own actions

I agree with what you say, but speeding on a main road is one thing. Speeding down a neighborhood is something entirely different. It's a lot more dangerous and a lot more likely to kill someone.

Best idea. /thread

Yeah, great idea, as long as you don't mind getting sued when someone has an accident and kills somebody. You're sure making your neighborhood safer by being a dumbass.

By doing what, Herc? Posting a fake speed limit sign? The problem isn't that there aren't any signs, it's that it was being enforced. Until they did what? Put up a SIGN saying they would shoot at them. And seeing as they haven't shot at anyone, I would call it a fake sign. :p I think they did do something like that community, just more comical. cheers
