My girlfriends brother bought a 2000 Trans Am WS-6....it has its vin or some number code on every single piece of glass on there car...i was lead to believe by a car salesmen once that those numbers are there because that car was once a rental car...but i couldn't possible see why a T/A WS-6 would be a rental? and it only has 30,000 miles on it! could it be an X-rental car?

The salesman is dumber than dirt.

The VIN is etched on every body panel to aid in tracking them down if stolen.
If you check your body panels, you may see that you've got them also.

Yeah with that low of miles on the car I doubt it was a rental car.

Plus I know a few military bases the security department offers VIN etching on parts like windows and such to help with recovery.

When you turn the car on, does it start, or does it moan "Please kill me." If it's the latter, it may be a former rental.
