I'll be in Florida Aug 24-29 for the STS-128 space shuttle launch, hanging out on the beach (hotel @ cocoa beach), and lots of drinking.

Need some more ideas for things do to throughout the week! And I don't mean disney/universal/etc.

Nothing is going on with Nascar, but I thought about going here: http://orlandospeedworld.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=238&Itemid=134

Any recommendations for cool things to do?

Daytona Int'l Speedway has a museum next to the track. You can see Kenseth's Daytona 500 winning car.

also hit up the daytona driving beach, every tourist has to visit the beach at least once while down there!

I tell you thing to do in orlando, don't take your ass outside until night time because its too damn hot outside.

idk, its just something that everyone does.....:shrugs: ya, you can take a rental car on the beach. its just Daytona Beach's shore line, idk i think its cool to drive the car on the beach and take pics and just relax and chill on the beach for a whole day....call me weird but its something "I" like to do.... smirk

I don't know if you buy grand prix calender. I see that I have 20gtp02's car picture on the beach on August month. If you have grand prix but since you will driving rental car. It will sweet for photoshoot. I drove the rental car on beach once in 2003. I was little nervous about get stuck lol It was fun but too way hot. Bring lot of sun block if you don't want red face.

Have a safe trip in few weeks later! wink

You can take rental on the beach.
If your in Daytona, hit me up. I got a few buddies in Cocoa Area, and its less than hour trip down there.
Not sure what things you like to do or who you are coming with.
Orlando has a decent night life, downtown.
I've been off usually Mon-Tues during my work weeks.
You could parasail in Daytona area.
Wednesday nights in Bithlo, in between Cocoa and Orlando is OSW 1/4 mile track.
I'm kinda having brain fart right now.
