What would we need to set up our cars to be able to drift. I went to a drift off compition and they had some nice cars there. No grand prixs though, although I was on the hunt to find some out there on the local set. There was a COMPITION GTO AND MUSTANG there that gave the imports a run for there money.......I mean
DDAAMMMNNNN!!!!! jawdrop jawdrop

The GTO was pushing 900hps. I wish I had my damn camera.......

I remember someone on here saying that our cars are NOT meant for drifting, but are designed to haul ass down a drag track. I'm definitely going to agree with that, since I've tested the limits of my GP before, and I don't think it would drift well at all. RWD cars with smaller bodies and less weight do way better. That's why a lot of imports are so good at it; they're small, light, and agile.

Get going real fast, cut the wheel, and slam the e-brake

do not do it with your GP. Picture a ballistic missile that is capable of going extremely fast and very far, that is a GP. The sidewinder missile (missiles ment for turning really fast and striking the target with percision) is light weight and quick, but dosen't really last long, that is a japanese import.

So unless you want to struggle with fwd drifting, replaceing tires every season, and ruin your GP... Don't do it.

I dont mean to be a stick in the mud, but I just have to say that to me, drifting seems like the automotive version of figure skating...a competition with a subjective winner, not whose first, and the single best way I can think of to get on a first name basis with your local tire dealer...and I've personally never seen a FWD car drift or powerslide (even in the movies you can see the back wheels locking to make them slide, usually on wet pavement)...I wanna see the new Batmobile drift, all four of those rear swamper tires smokin! hammer

Drifting looks good and all but leave it for a demo not a competition. Results are too subjective. Kind of hard to get good points if your tires are locked to get around the turn. If you watch all the cars are rwd. And by the way they don't use the e brake to initiate the slide the chassis is set up for over steer.
