The base LS will start at $22,995
The base SS will start at $30,995

Keep in mind the LS is a 300hp V6! priced right between the base model stang and the GT. Faster then both the base stang and challenger toboot!!!!

300HP for 23K, 26 MPG and nearly a 50/50 weight distro. Put my name on the list for a Black one for the wife. That way I will get her Monte SS and my daughter will get the GP.

My bad, I read LS 300hp as SS 300hp.

Buy a GTP for 5k and spend 18k on mods. lol

Faster, AND better looking.

One thing I find interesting in the second link:
Quote:
Of note, GM claims the Camaro SS lapped Germany’s Nürburgring in 8 minutes 20 seconds. While not as blistering as the Corvette ZR1’s 7:26.4 second lap, it still puts the Camaro in some pretty decent company, such as the E46 BMW M3. However, the Camaro SS’ little brother — the 2008 Cobalt SS — made its way around the Nürburgring in just 8:22.

Not a brand new car.

23k isn't much these days.

The new disposable of a car Cobalt SS starts at 24k. And doesn't have near the fun factor. I mean come on 300 hp, RWD, IRS, big disc brakes...

You may have that for a little while but give it a year that'll fade.

Your right, not a BRAND new one, but a fairly new in good used condition for much less.

I will never buy a brand new car off the lot. The moment you drive them off that lot they depreciate instantly atleast 20% of their value - minus a select few.

The pricing of the LS is good I do agree, 23k is a steal for what you get but it's just not for me.
