So someone is offering me roof rails for $200 + shipping, the roof rails have some chipping on them (not major) should I get them for that price? Seems a bit high for chipping on them.

If its chipped, I would not bother unless he do 150 plus shipping. Paying 200+ dollars for something thats chipped will no fly with me.

Ya, it sounded like a rip-off. What are those roof rails made out of any way? They seem like they would be really cheap, or you could make your own some way.

Jordan got lucky steal for 10 buck. Few months ago, this guy from clubgp got roof rail for 50 buck from local seller (he is not gp member). He ask local seller how much for roof rail? He says just offer me. He gave him 50 buck because he doesn't know about grand prix very well. He never realize this roof rail is rare part. Some people know and some people don't know. Sometimes, it is good steal or hard to get on the price either.

I believe it should be like $100 to $150 either. Couple years ago, it was $500 for that price from clubgp Jason who have 20 roof rail set. That's why everyone went overboard for that eek Pretty crazy. I remember Morad try that $500 "buy it now" + shipping but no one want buy that so they decrease it down. Since our car is very old. I think they should be like $100 to $150.

I think GM still make roof rail. In early 2009, someone buy new roof rail from GM site on other grand prix site. Not sure about right now since it has been while.

Keep eye on clubgp sale. Sometimes roof rail thread pop up if you are interesting them.

About custom roof rail. There is one clubgp guy who make it because he think $500 is crazy. It has been while since it was few years ago. I believe he brought black door molding from auto zone or wherever. He put black door molding on his gold car. It is not that bad. It is little bit "shark fin" but more round. It is not that big than roof rail. I don't seen him around anymore so it might hard to find the pictures in the old thread in few years ago.

Are the roof rails something that can be sanded down and painted?
