i was just kinda thinken that i would like a new computer so i thought i would come on here to see if anyone on here could build me a computer, does anyone know how much a pretty BAD ASS computer would cost me ?

i mainly use the computer to surf the net, watch movies, i would like to make it into like a tivo lol i have seen that they can do that but idk .... just thought i would see what the experts on here have to say

I can build a Crysis-ready computer for less than $1000. And that's Crysis on max settings and roughly 30fps.

But that's just the tower, no monitor, keyboard, nothing.

Just find a PC with a Intel Core 2 Quad, 4gigs of ram, and an Nvidia Geforce 8800-9800 graphic's card and you would have a good computer. Of course it's always cheaper to build your own so if you can have someone build it for you that would help cut down on costs by alot.

Why would you need a "BAD ASS" computer to do what you need? My old AMD 1700 system did that, and with 512mb of ram!

You only need a powerful computer for two things: encoding and gaming. And it's only required for the latter, the former you can get by with something slower, it just takes more time.

well now i have a sony vaio lap top and idk it just is seeming to slow way down ... idk i listen to alot of music on my computer as well also storing all my pictures and why would i want a slower comp rook i was somethen fast as heck

he drives a slow car, hes got to make up for it with something :p haha j/p

I'll help you out with it if you want, but like has been said, for your needs you don't really need a fast computer. I would just back up all your stuff onto an external hard drive, reformat and reinstall windows, and you'll be back to new with your laptop.

my dad makes custom computers for extra on the side, pm me andrew if you would like my dad to make you one. hes good at it mines super de duper fast lol

wasn't your computer just on the fritz? lol. you said it was broke so you had to use the one at the library lol.
