Well come next October I'll be getting a pretty good chunk of change from the Navy and I think I'm gonna put about 10k down on this a Stingray 220dr.

It's a 22 foot deck boat. The wife and I have been wanting a bigger boat for some time now and I think this one will do nicely for a very long time.

I've thought about buying a boat so many times and I keep talking myself out of it because I want to do so much to the car...and other cars I want...plus I have several co-workers that own boats and they are constantly complaining about the high cost of owning one...I suppose if I was a fishing nut then I would have to have one, but I'm not...plus I'd have to have something to tow with (I'll shut up now)...its a very slick looking boat and if its something both of you want then I dont think you can go wrong...kids will love it for sure.

We spend alot of time on the water. Plus I do have a tow vehicle.

Optional engines are a fuel injected 4.3L, 5.0 carbed or injected, and injected 5.7s in either Mercruiser or Volvo Penta. I'm gonna go with the 5.0 carbed Volvo for one it's cheaper then the 4.3L but easier on gas then the 5.7L. Plus with the Volvo I'll get a six year warrentee where the Merc only gets a two. The top speed diff between the base motor and the top of the line is only about 7mph.

Nice looking boat Herc. Sounds to me like someone is reenlisting and getting a bonus to boot. My brother reenlisted the first time in 1982 and they were still giving lump sum then. He got 16k to reup and pocketed 12.8 after taxes. Thanks for your continued service and enjoy the boat. You can spend some of that money for a full time mechanic/chief engineer. Have tools, can travel. For the right price anyway.

Was looking at this as well.

I don't like the flaming 8 ball look, which can be fixed in seconds. I am, however, questioning that dash.

Well after further review this boat won't be as comfortable for fishing as we'd like so we're back to looking.

Well I have to find a dealer around here for this boat so I can try and talk the wife into it.

Basically the same as the one above only it's more of a pure fishing boat and the open bow isn't quite as wide as the stingray and it's a foot shorter.

Just tell her "size doesn't matter, it's how you fish with it". eek
