Hey guys with GTP'S
I'm wondering what your gas milage is? Cause I have a 99GTP, and I get 15mpg is this normal or just needs a really bad tune up, and also I barely drive just to work or home, and I rarely race or gun it

Thats what it says on the internet...between 18 and 27. My in car thing reads just over 20 most of the time but I don't know how accurate that thing is or how it gets that number. I just got the car and haven't put a full tank through it so I can't say for sure.

I get 19-20 mpg (calculated) on a 90% city/10% highway mix. Lot's of spirited driving, hard to avoid that. This is on E85, on 93 octane I used to get 21-22 mpg, same type of driving.
To get better than 15 mpg you may need a tune up or stay away from boost for a tank (very hard to do) and see if the mileage goes up. If you do a lot of short trips, that will cause low mileage.

Sounds like you need to tune. O2 sensor, filters, etc. It's hard to pinpoint gas mileage things. I used to get 23-25 mixed, until someone got ahold of it, and now I couldn't tell you until I get rid of this tank of gas. Ordonez, if you still have the GT tranny with your top-swap, you're going to get worse MPG than an actual GTP because of the gearing.

GTPJesse: Depends on a lot of things... The bigest one is your style of driving and whether or not you mostly tool around the city or cruise the freeway. I knew someone with a GTP who got average of 16 with pure city stop and go. Never had to go more than 5-10 miles to work with plenty of traffic... And then there's the people I know who routinely do mixed driving and have gotten anywhere from 20-26mpg... Can't speak for the hybrid cars that are cruising around here with GT trannies and top end swaps... But, Arcxnus presents a good argument on those...

I get about 18-19 in town and about 26-30 on the highway depending on wether or not i am drafting.
My car has 87k on original plugs and wires with 93octane gas.
All I have done is an intake and I like to hear the supercharger.

My stock '99 GTP sedan averages about 22-23 mpg when I use it for my commute to work. That's a good mix of street, freeway, and stop and go traffic. I also have a heavy foot, so my passengers tell me. My wife gets much less than that when she uses it as a grocery getter. On long trips, I can average about 25 mpg.

I do all city driving, and I get 18.3 according to my dash, and 18.0-18.6 when I do the math. And that's with my RPMs all over the place. There's some construction in some small areas on the (main) road that stretches from one end of my city to the other one, and so even though there's construction on 5% of the road, people go 15 under the limit on 100% of the road. So when I see a gap in traffic, I floor it and dart through. My speed is all the way from 30 to 55, depending on when you catch me. lol I can't remember who said it, but GTP really DOES stand for Going To Pass.
