Well i finally sold my car for 3,800. I sold it to my friends brother-in-law. He knew what had happen to me, so i dont have to worry he didn,t know. Well i finally decided to get a 2002 or higher Ram 1500. Shortbed single cab, v8. I went to look at one, they wanted 18,000 for it it was a 2003 with 70,000 miles. i think its way to much. What do you guys and girls think? My parents keep telling me its going to be a big mistake if i get that new of a car, they say i need to save money and buy a house. im only 20, single. i work a lot load of hours a week. what you guys think i should do? im just stressing out. i need a non byass opinion. i thought this would be the place to come.

$18,000 is a ton of money.

If you want to spend that much on a truck. Go to the dealership, it's "name your own price" right now. My buddy picked up an F350 Powerstroke loaded with plow for only $38k. His dad picked up a leftover F150 for $16k out the door.

As a reference, last in June, 04', I bought my Dakota for $6,200 with 50k miles. A Ram will obviously be more expensive, but not $18k.

Not to mention the cost of gas for the truck.
What size engine? If it's the 5.2 it'll suck a lot of gas. The 5.9 get's better milage, but it'll still eat you up.

And 18k is alot for a truck with 70,000 miles on it. Esp. since it's a short box regular cab. I bet you could get a new one for close to that price.

You can easily get an '00+ 4x4 for around $10k here. But then the market is saturated, just about everyone owns a truck.
