I was waiting to order my alpine cd player from crutchfield until I got my tax return. I want the 9884, can change all the lights to red, 3 sets of preouts, good power, etc. The day my tax return got direct deposited, I went to the website to order, only to see the 9884 was discontinued.
Fortunately, they offer it in a package deal with a remote and 6.5 speakers. I am keeping the bose speakers, so I'm wondering if I do order this if there would be any interest in the alpine speakers.

they are alpine 6.5 speakers that can also fit into 6 3/4 openings

Are the Bose speakers compatable? I know there are wiring issues with regards to the Bose.

yeah through crutchfield I'm ordering the pac oem 2 which is an interface which allows you to hook it up aftermarket stereos to stock premium sound systems

I just went through "outfit my car" put in 1999 grand prix with bose system, it came up when i put it in my cart saying it was necessary so that I didn't have to do major re-wiring (which I know nothing about)

alpine cost 160, new package cost 220, I'm just looking to make up difference (60 bucks) plus a little for shipping (5), so first 65 would take it, I'm probably going to order it later today. I will not open the speaker box, so would ship it as soon as I get it.

I have that same Alpine deck. I love it, i didnt have to buy the PAC OEM harness and i have Bose, i just hooked the pink wire from the bose stock harness to the blue wire for amp turn on, on the aftermarket deck harness and it has been working just fine for me and sounds great.

Ok cool just didn't want you to get hosed. I don't know much about audio just know the Bose causes some issues when going aftermarket.

thanks herc, I know nothing about audio myself which is why I'm ordering the harness. I put in the cd player in my old firebird, but that was all plug and play, took 30 minutes.
I'm glad to here that it sounds good boosten. I was going to wait until the summer to get it because I was just using a cassette adapter for my zune and it was working fine, but now every 30 seconds or so the cassette pops out. I cleaned the player, tried 3 different adapters, still the same thing. So tax return came, and I bought it (along with the flushmount). Might take a few weeks, but I will post pics once installed.

Should be here tomorrow, i'll post again when the package arrives and see if there is any interest in the speakers once i actually have them.

Damn where were these like 4 months ago? I would have definitely have taken these off your hands for my 6.5" upgrade.

If you don't have any luck selling them I would definitely consider putting them in your car, I think you'll be pretty impressed on what a difference another inch can make.

my fiance wants them for her saturn ion, but doesn't want them bad enough to pay me anything for them

If they don't sell, I'll probably throw them in her car this summer

and while I know I could probably get better sound from speaker upgrades, I'm just gonna stick with the bose speakers. I may eventually add the infinity basslink or another powered sub (I need my trunk space for long trips), but for now, I think this is it for the audio portion of the car upgrade
