I always thought the style of this car was better then the grand prix gxp. I want those rims so bad but they cost alot.

I thought about buy this one during car hunting in 2004. I was thinking this car is too huge for me so I choose gp instead this lol

That's really sweet ride. It looks very clean. I hope you enjoy your new ride.

I must say,the Gp is a great ride...but the GXP with the northstar V8....wow...they really did a great job on this car....even though its front wheel drive the torque steer is well controlled. The exhaust as a nice rumble...the ride is firm...given the cars size it truly handles like a car 1/2 its size...shes away for the winter...tint in the spring...Ive not been able to find much in the way of aftermarket stuff...So for now the GP sits covered in the barn...sulking....the asking price was 13000....I managed to get it for just over 10000...I think that was a pretty good price, given I rarely ever see these cars and the low mileage....

I never have been a big fan of silver cars (I think that was part of my problem with my Sebring) but the Bonne is a seductive and muscular beast that wears a tuxedo. Its overall size belies its sporting flavor and the drivers cockpit feels like it should have set of throttles on the console instead of a gearshift (am I sounding slightly jealous yet?)...and I just love the dash mounted key switch cool

I have heard good and bad about both the NorthStar and the Bonne overall so I would suggest hooking up with a message board asap. I understand window regulators can be problem area and something called "intermediate shaft" that causes steering wheel shake. But just like with the GPs if you know how to fix things they dont take away from how great the car is overall.

Good luck with her Mike...I hope she's good to you...she's a looker.

Nice find.

I've yet to see a Bonnie GXP in the ads. Heck I'v only seen a handful of SSEIs.

I never understood why they make the bonneville gxp less hp than the grand prix gxp. I thought the bonneville was an upper level car than the grand prix.

by the time the GP GXP came along I believe the Bonneville had been dropped or on the way out. The Bonne GXP is a 300hp engine while the GP-GXP was 303, so very little difference. The engine choices were more about the tooling that already existed for the respective platforms as opposed to hp ratings. This is still evident by the Buick Lucerne which still uses the NorthStar and the Lacrosse Super that packs the LS3 v8.

I think the difference were due to PCM tuning and the tranny backing the motor. Given the extra weight of the Bonnie over the GP I'm sure torque management is running rampide in the Bonnie to prolong tranny life.
