Got a raise today!!

That means I'll have money saved up for the wedding sooner, which means I'll be able to mod my ride sooner!

Ha... better think about getting modded BEFORE the wedding. You know, before the ownership takes place. On your wedding night your new bride will officially own you.

Congrats on the raise. I used to work for a company that knew how to take car of their employee's. The company I work for now just flat out sucks. I've never gone 4 years with only one raise, but I'm the moron. I haven't left yet. For some unknown reason I care too much about doing my job for a company I hate.

Congrats on the raise. I bet you made mistake one didn't ya. You told her you got a raise. No Mod money for you she already has it spent. smile LOL. I get a raise every January 1st. This year it was about 3.5% In June my Flight pay will go up from $350 to $425. smile But that's what happens when you fly for 14 years.

I keep seperate money accounts from my wife...but the house will still take priority over your car...plus my kids are grown and gone...its tuff to fix up a car when youre married and young...especially if the new bride thinks she is in competition with the car itself (this spells trouble...like with my EX-wife)

My fiancee is pretty cool about this stuff. Unfortuantely right now I'm paying a mortgage, 2 cars and 2 student loans with her help. We have to pay for our own wedding and those cost a fortune. That's a lot of debt and we haven't even purchased furniture for our house.

I really can't wait to mod. She's already given me the green light for a plasma TV, surround sound, etc so she should be ok with me getting a few simple mods right? wink

Every time she sees me on this site she rolls her eyes and says "No!" because she knows that making my car faster is no good!

My wife told me that it was because of her that I have a house. I told her "If it wasn't for you, I'd have alot more toys than what I have now."
She then thanked me as if I were paying her a compliment.

Ain't that the truth! I waited until my fiancee was with family in Michigan before I dropped several hundred on a guitar and amp. She took the news well, but is leary about going out of town again. laugh

It's always easier to beg for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.

I told my new wife before we got married "understand now who you are getting married to...I'm a carguy and thats never gonna change"...her response was "as long as you dont tell me, Honey I'm not paying the mortgage this month cuz I'm buying carstuff, then we'll be okay." Idont ask how much money she spends on fabric or scrapbooking or whatever, because I know its not coming out of my account. If I earn extra bucks and choose to spend it on my car, I can do so with no permission or flak. My ex wanted to handle all the finances and that put my car below the bottom of the list...nobody else dictates my earnings ever again...I'm not trying to sound like a hardazz, its just the understanding I made clear before we ever made the big step...I could spend lots more on the car if the house didnt need so much work (and it will always need work)...but I dont mind that cuz I'm tickled to have a place with a garage and a paved drive...she has her hobbies and I have mine.

Get your mods BEFORE you get married otherwise, you too will fall to the ball and chain. No disrespect to your soon to be. Just be weary of what the guys are telling you.

Well, i hear ya all. I'm getting hitched in June, so i'm trying to get all my stuff before, unfortunately these wedding things cost a lot of money...Deep down inside she loves the car, she just won't admit it.

Speaking of really good days though! I just found out some dormant for the last 3 years shares of mine rocketted today, so i wound up with an out of the blue extra $20,000 today...

What to do, what to do... laugh
