How is it that no one has gone here (36.05N x 112.07W) yet? It's only one of the friggin wonders of the world. It's huge too, you have to really scroll around to fully view, but it's highly detailed photos

Dober, I beleive that'll be the Grand Canyon, or atleast it sounds like it from your description. That was one of the first places I went to.

You got it Bobby - wanted to make people check it out instead of saying what it was, because from the satellite pictures you get a real idea of just how 'grand' it is.

Here's a couple for ya guys...

the really big Christ statue in Rio de Janeiro

and the Nazca lines... however the resolution isn't good enough to make them out, but I verified the coordinates.

Kind of disappointing what areas are not high res - alot of the natural wonders of the world are very poor quality areas.

back with more shots (I'm a bit of a New York nut, but its an amazing city)...but as I mentioned last...Top of the World Ma!!!...Mt Everest...the altitude guage works pretty well, at 36k ft it looked like you could almost touch the summit.

Onward to New York City...and Ground Zero...the clean up was complete by this shot but before the new rail hub and the freedom tower cornerstone.

The USS Intrepid floating museum, docked on the Hudson river just a few blocks north of the Javits Center...lots of cool aircraft and displays.

This is Central Park...check out the altitude, gives you an idea of just how big this park is, and its completely fabricated...not the first tree or shrub was indigenous to Manhattan Island...the large building or the right side is the Metroplotlitan Museum of Art (my wife loves this place) you could get lost for days in that place...the famous ice rink is in the northeast corner.

...and on a slightly morbid but interesting note, this is New York City's version of Alcatraz, except that it isnt closed. This is Rikers Island Prison Facility,as you can see the entire Island is a prison, and a darn big one at that...to the lower right is LaGuardia Airport, which is about the same overall size...I guess for a city this big you need a big BIG house!

still trying to find an area of the Great Wall of China that has some decent res...no luck yet.

I found Goodyears test track near Ft Stockton, TX.
The circle is part of the test track. It's 8 miles across.
Jaguar brought the XJ220 to this track. They tried to get the XJ220 up to 220mph, unfortunately because of the constant turn, they were only able to reach 218.

Check out what I found ESE of Austin. According to the alt reading, it can be clearly seen from over 30k feet in the air. 30k-35k is where most airliners cruise at.
Trees, freaking trees!
