well i debadged my car today. i took the ones on the doors fenders and trunk lid, when i got to my front bumper it pulled off a huge chunk of paint when i was useing a rubber wheel, im so mad about this, now i HAVE to paint my bumper i was hopen to put it off as long as possible. this was very frustrating to me so i just had to share.

the 3800 badge was on the bumpers for the 97-2000 SE's also and the GT's only carried em until 99 i believe...because i dont have one on mine and I have a 2001

acually the 3800 was an option you could have on the SE smile so yes some SE's did have the 3800.

ooo yes they did....lol http://www.autobuyguide.com/1997/12-aut/pontiac/grand-prix/reviews/index.html
if you scroll down to the second paragraph under the red GP you will see that it says--> "There are three engines. Standard with the SE is a 3.1-liter V6. It's a durable performer, but with 160 horsepower hitched to some 3400 pounds of car, it's no thrill ride. Standard on GT, and optional on SE, is GM's 3.8-liter 3800 Series II V6. A good all-around performer, it delivers 195 hp, 220 pound-feet of torque, commendable smoothness and crisp throttle response." darthvader

In '97, GTP was an 'addon' package to the GT. After that, the GTP became its own model. The SEs w/ 3800 is still an SE. It didn't have some of the options available to the GT trim.
