well coming back into town today and i see this dogdge charger with the 3.5ho and it was a cute girl inside and i came up to her on the stoplight and we took off and she pulled me by about 3/4 of a car when we let off. i felt kinda bad i know the gt can take the 2.5 but i didnt know the 3.5 would eat me up so bad

Well, you win some you lose some. I raced a stock new Evo, despite knowing the outcome. Did better than I should have, because it needed a driver mod. He only had about 2/3 of a car by 70.

The v6's are dogs and hemi's aren't that much better but the srt8 is a diff story.

It better be for $40K+

The 3.5 has 250hp & 250TQ with a 5 speed auto and weighs 3650. That is if she was running 89 octane which is recommended for the 3.5.

Dodge says 0-60 in 9.3 with the V-6, R/T Hemi in 5.8, SRT8 in 5.0.

1/4 mile in mid 15s with the V6, low 14s with R/T Hemi, low 13s with SRT8

3650? is that the charger or the challenger? I coulda swore the charger was over 4.

Just looked it up. 09 SRT is over 4k. The others are 36ish.

the 2006 challenger R/T with the 5.7 hemi makes 340hp@5000rpm and 390tq@4000rpm 0-60 in 5.6 and quarter in 13.9 and the sxt makes 214hp and 200tq at the wheels makin that 15.6 in the 1/4

I test drove an SXT with the 3.5 and by the "butt dyno" it felt markedly faster than my GT. The 30 to 70mph "highway entry run" I think was definitely faster than my even with my mods. The Charger might be paking another 300lbs of curb weight but that extra 50 ponies moves it right along. The 2.7 V6 on the other hand is an underpowered ,overworked limp fish in that big car.

I never understood why they put the 2.7 in the chargers and magnums. Too small of an engine for those big cars.
