You forgot the most important parts
All Wheel Drive All Wheel Steering
They are crazy cars. The 3000GT VR-4 is the same car, but with more features. The whole reason I sold my 3000GT was to get a VR-4, but I just couldn't afford one, so I got the GTP.
The VR-4 has AWD AWS Twin Turbo (with two modes - racing/driving) Twin Intercoolers!!! Active Suspension with 3 settings Active Aero (over 50mph the rear wing lifts up, and the front air dam drops 2") 6 speed manual (No AUTO option) Auto Climate Control 18" Chrome Wheels (in later models)
They are one sweet car, even for an import. They will easily run 14psi on the stock turbos.

1st they are not *that* heavy
Usually they 3600lbs, some are 3800 lbs but that's the upper limit, some factory freaks are in 3400 lbs.
AWS and other heavy items were canceled after 1995 to save on weight.
Trannys are good for up to 400-450 AWHP At the 600+ AWHP they have some problems..
Trannys are Getrag units..
The engine is sweet - DOHC 24 valve, with 7,000 RPM Redline but has no valve float to 8100 RPM!!!

I like the styling of the 3000GT better. Here's my old baby:

The 3000GT and the Dodge Stealth R/T are both on my top 10 list. Those VR-4's are so sweet, even though they're foreign I always say I'll never buy a foreign car, but I think if I had the money and the chance to buy one, I would jump all over it...

With a boost controller you can set psi on the turbos to 14psi and start knocking some sweet times out. Stock turbos will hit 14psi, factory sets them to 9 (12 in later years).
