I know that seeing girls in nice cars like some from this forum isnt uncommon. However i think its cool because you guys are knowledgeable about your car. But how does everyone feel about the "daddys Girl" or girls who are clueless driving for instance trans am's?

It scares me because usually they are bad drivers and pose a threat to me on my bike.

For the record, I'm afraid of all cars while on the road, not just women.

I think any parent who buys such a sports car for a first time driver is begging for trouble...as such, that makes them as clueless as the teen in question...the teen has the benefit of lack of experience, the parent should know better...theirs is a crime of stupidity instead of ignorance. Case in point, when my son first went for his drivers license, I owned a 91 Taurus SHO. I was in the market to sell the SHO at the time and I easily could have given him the car. I refused to start him out on such a car because I knew it would have been a matter of time before there was trouble. Young men and women have a high adventure level (which is why the military loves to make fighter pilots out of them...they have far more intensity than fear)...I know from my personal experience, if I had started out with the kind of cars that I owned later on in life, I probably wouldnt be here today...as with everything else in life, we all need to make our "baby steps" first...jumping all the way to the top rung is fraught with danger...I'll bet Bryant knows a guy or two who started out with way too much sportbike than they had experience.

my first car was a 93 plymouth sundance. talk about a POS! it was kinda humorous how ugly it was. i actually kept it for some time while i saved up money for an actual car. it didn't give me any major breakdowns, though. the transmission started acting up and the throttle position sensor screwing up at the same time, so that was my excuse to buy a GP!

lol Yep. My drivers ed teacher compared driving a car to "steering a 2500 lb missile".

My first car was a 1983 buick skylark. It didn't last long. I totally agree with the beater first car, learn how to drive and then get somthing nice.

Agreed. Parents should invoke some responsibilty but today's society changed everything.

BTW, my first car (dad's former car) was a 2 door '79 Pontiac Bonne. Even though she was a boat, I still had a lot of fun.

I'm pretty lucky to have the GP as my first car. It's not the one I learned to drive in, though. Years ago, we had this ancient manual trans ranch truck that I used to tear up our field in when I was like .. eleven. lol

I've seen my share of younger drivers that show absolutely no responsibility, one of which still sticks in my mind to this day. A girl in my Psych class had been in three wrecks, totalled each car, and her parents bought her a new one everytime. .. Yep.
