I'm scared to get on the roof and do Christmas lights. Not a chance I would do it.

a couple of years ago I think one of the best of the world kill himself doing that here in Mexico.

But is so amazing to see people doing that.

I actually enjoy flying. I can't begin to rationalize why I don't mind being thousands of feet up and not 12 feet up. I also like roller coasters and stuff. confused lol

Didn't die he broke a leg and some ribs. He was too close to the cliff and thought if he released the para shoot that it would pull him away but it pulled him into the cliff. It got caught on a bush which saved his life.

It would be fun but I would be scared if something went wrong that I might fall to death.

I'm the same as some of you guys - I don't mind flying or being up in skyscrapers, but I can't stand ladders. Now, that being said, I'm seriously considering going sky diving for my 21st birthday next month. lol

jumping outta planes wasnt the big deal. I knew that my parachute was going to deploy. Them Riggers are good at what they do. Turbulence aint a big issue anymore with those flights. Flying in 'Hawks is GREAT, and 'Hooks are, eh, okay. C-130s are, believe it or not, a very nice ride. Jumping BASE, no thanks. Too many things to smack into on the way down. Too many things to get tangled up in. Nope. Wont do it. Enjoy your long fall.

false sense of security, mayhaps? In a bird and rollercoaster, you're encapsulated, strapped down, and otherwise immobilized. That and the bird and rollercoaster are FOREVER going through inspections.

Step up to the ledge of a tall builiding or other sheer drop, and it's just you and eternity should you take your curiosity too far. You, individually, do not have an armored crash-tested bubble to help you survive that fall like a fixed-wing or rotary-wing aircraft.

That and I'm pretty sure it's evolutionary learning. A bunch of our ancestors probably went over a cliff, ala lemmings, and the survivors went to check the carnage.

Everyone is born with some sort of level of fear to a stimulus and to heights, that is due to the whomb. You are suspended, therefore that is the height fear; and the stimulus fear is due to you not hearing squat outside the liquid you are encapsulated in!

Those wing suits are awesome, I don't know if I'd want to base jump, but I'd love to sky dive with one of those.

Yep. If I'm forced to the top of a building or anything, there is no way I'm going to enjoy myself. Or go near the edge.

usually you can't get anywhere near a ledge for liability reasons.
