So what car it is replacing? Grand Prix or the Bonn?
It is a little bigger that the GP yet so is the Bonn. The GP just got a totally new design.
Anyone know? have a guess?

I like that new G6, nice refreshing break from the Grand Am. Never a big fan of those....

Yea I do not understand the concept that Pontiac is doing here...
G6 GP Bonny
All pretty damn close to the same car!?!?!?!
Although if I did not get the snow here in MD I would have a 350HP GTO and not a 260HP GP.

But Pontiac has also set up their lineup nicely. If you want a Pontiac, you get a choice of an economical G6, a sportier Grand Prix, a more high-end Bonnie, or a sports coupe GTO. You get those options and you still retain the Pontiac stylings and feel to the car. However, if you don't like that styling or feel, you and Pontiac are shit out of luck.
It's essentially what Mazda and Nissan are in the process of doing.

I saw somewhere i thought that the G6 was going to be in the same pricing spectrum of the current grand am. Which when i was looking was 25 fully decked. But one may never know until the man tells us. I,myself cannot and would not pay 30 for this car when i can get a gtp that is way more capable. anyone else agree? Although the 6 spd manny tranny <----???? that it comes with would help put the down a lil easier

You'll hopefully see the GTO price drop down closer to $32k (where the WS6 was) or they'll be cancelled altogether.

The base of the car is only 32455? would 500 dollars really cause a car just to be cancelled. they are selling just as fast as they come in here where i live. i like hercmans pricing schedule. but its pretty close to that if you toss in the rebates. when i bought mine i had 2500 in rebates then they had 750 in option savings then the dealer had an additional 750 for dealer savings. so if you take a loaded gtp and toss all that in its at 27k. thats if you get the rebates.

Car pricing really just pisses me off. I understand business owners have mark ups and they have overhead, employees and the such...but man until I married my wife buying a car was a pain in the @@@. Now I married in to a GM family and I get GMS pricing. For those who do not know it is a family purchase plan for GM employees and imediate family. I pay WAYYYY less than sticker for a car (actually less than invoice) and then take the rebates on top of that. But the dealer told me NO way was I getting GMS this year on a GTO and maybe not next year either. But a 30-32K high performance sports car does not seem unreasonable to me.

deet deet deet deet deet!!!! this just in... PMD will continue to make the grand am so they can push it off as a fleet car vs having to make the G6 as a fleet car also then have a G6 goin down the dumper in resale value ( can some say grand prix). plus they have to keep the factory workers workin as per their contract.. even harder now that summer is coming.

Just an FYI for those that didn't know: The Grand Prix designation was G8. Not sure if GM will replace the Grand Prix down the road with an actual car called a "G8" but thats what the prototype / show car Grand Prix was called.
Seeing how the "Grand Am" is being phased out for the "G6" it's certainly possible for the "Grand Prix" name to be replaced with a "G8".

Pontiac Prices G6 from $21,300
Pontiac is hoping to move its Grand Am successor up a notch - and following that, the pricetag for the new G6 sedan will begin at $21,300, the brand announced on Thursday. The pricetag includes a destination charge of $625. The GT version of the sedan reaches up to $23,925, while more versions of the G6 - the GTP sedan, a coupe and hardtop convertible - will be announced in the future. Sales of the G6 sports sedan begin in September 2004. Standard equipment on the G6 includes a 200-hp, 3.5-liter V-6; a four-panel panoramic sunroof will be optional.
