My mom has a 2000 dohc ford taurus. Her traction light and abs light is on.

I know for our gps its the hub that is going bad when the traction and abs light is on.

Long time ago I had that abs light diagnose and it was the left rear abs sensor going bad, now the car makes a loud howling/rubbing noise and I think its the rear hub bearing going out but I can't really tell since the noise is so loud.

How can I determine which hub is going bad in the car.

I think if you jack it up, you can grab the wheel and give it a wiggle. There shouldn't be any play in it.

You could also spin it by hand and if they are really bad, you could tell that way.

But a $tealership should be able to diagnos which hub it is.
