Hey guys whats going on?? Man its been such a long time since I've been on here. Well I have some pics of my new project, I'm open to criticism which I know I am going to receive. You will see pics of the car as it sits now which is basically the way I bought it, minus the roof rack...I will answer all questions about the car. Enjoy!!! Porsche 944 Phone Dial rims...whoa wait you're from RI?? cool anyway yea the rims, a turbo by spring/summer time...euro bumpers...new headlights (yellow isnt gonna match with the white and black theme), uhhh hmm maybe a newer exhaust, I have magnaflow now and its loud as hell...no tint or anything like that. I'd like to autocross it, so probably gonna invest in some strut bars and things like that

Golfs are sweet.

They can tear it up, done right, too. Especially with a turbo. Good luck, no hate here.

lol ohh boy here come the jokes...yea no ricer type here trust me. Everything I do is most likely gonna be from germany, except for the turbo. But you'll see, this car will be a really clean ride. I'm going to drive it to NJ in July for a HUUUUUGE VW/Audi meet called Waterfest. idk if you guys have heard of it, but it usually attracts around 20k cars...anyway as far as doin work professionally, thats something that we don't do. This is my 3rd VW, and the 6th one thats been in my immediate family. The best work is done in the driveway with family and friends that know what they're doing. hence the peoples car. OH MAN this car is great on gas

x2 w/Arc. You found something you can work on, you seem to really like (Id almost say love) the car, and have big plans. Who am I to naysay anyone's ambitions and dreams?

Also, you might wanna re-oil that K&N REAL soon. Nice car. Really.

Good Luck with the VW, they're fun cars when modded right, and if you need parts, these guys are pretty good: Montesi Volkswagen hammer

there are all sorts of vw forums. i check them from time to time.

vwfixx.com is a pretty popular one.

i personally think those yellow headlights and roof-racks are ugly, but i really have a hard time understanding any of that stuff that the "euro" crowd does...lol

good luck!!!

lmao yea chris did say that huh lol...kinda gay. Anyway I am ordered some really nice projector "angel eyes" that have a clear lense and black housing so it will look very nice. To be honest with you, i don't know what it is about the roof rack thing but I love em. I bought that off another dubber and I'm gonna throw some skis on top and hit the slopes this winter....I can't wait. I am on atleast 3 vw forums... www.vwvortex.com, www.highspeeddubbin.com, and www.oceanstatedubs.com

I've started two different clubs (Euro:Society being the first one, and DubHeadz most recently) with some friends of mine. We'll probably end up being one big club, but so far both clubs have atleast 20 cars each ranging from golfs to absolutely beautiful Audi S4's. I tell ya if you guys want a good project car let me know I can find you just about any VW, and get the parts easily and cheaper too. I get parts thrown at me for nothing, Gotta love networking... thumbsup

sorry for the rant

Never owned one, but when I worked as a mechanic, part of my job was to do a little networking as well, calling various dealers to locate parts for our customers. Montesi was our VW connection, and if the part wasn't in stock, they could usually get it in a day or two.
I helped a friend with her '67 VW a couple of times; installed a Pertronix Ignitor , replaced the generator and a few other parts... hammer
I see you've installed the dual e-brake mod already... wink

Did you buy it for a good price and have money left over from the gp to mod it?
What is up with those decals on the rear window?
Two in the p*** one in the st*** and the other ha** j** looking one.

Is it fairly quick, what auto or manual?

It has B4 (1995-'97) Passat Leather Seats...a sunroof that doesnt work (typical dub)...magnaflow exhaust...autozone crap cone filter...custom headliner...I'm gonna keep you guys updated as this car matures. It's gonna change alot over time...and by the time spring rolls around its gonna be pretty nice. Oh its sittin on weitec 60/40's

Yep, it was a '67 Beetle...a very reliable car, once we installed the ignitor. No more points bounce, and much better gas mileage.. cool

Not really a fan of the older Euro or Asian cars. Too boxy for me. Have fun with it. Just be sure to put as much into maintenance as performance, it's probably been neglected.

I would love to get a gti or an r32. For some reason VW hot hatches look like a lot of fun to me. Congrats on the purchase, I'm looking forward to what you're going to do with it.

No its been well taken care of actually....the original owner somehow managed to fit 20" inch rims on this car when it was on stock ride height but then the kid I bought it from who is now a good friend of mine is a passionate dubber and he took really good care of the car maintenance wise and did the mods that you see now...all receipts to prove it are sitting in the car. But I will have a lot of fun with this car and hope to make it look alot better cosmetically, and run quick enough to hunt you guys down lol

so basically guys i got my clutch on wednesday...got a huge snow storm on thursday so i couldnt do much work to it...shoveled around it and cleared the snow off the car today...took off the entire front end minus the fenders and hood, and started to get to work...then i had to go to work...so tomorrow is gonna be the big day. tranny drops out...old clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing go away...new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing get installed. Put the car back together like a lego, drop the front wheels onto the pavement again...start her up in the 26 degree weather, pick up my bro from the airport and then park it again because another storm is coming overnight on saturday...nothin like working in between storms
