Last videogame topic has all but died so I figured I'd see how everybody is enjoying this current era in home entertainment?

At present, I'm enjoying playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on my gf's Wii. Just replayed 1 and 2 before we went and bought 3. I must say, I am impressed and amazed and look forward to another, hopefully past the time of Metroid: Fusion and continue with the story a bit.

Other than that, I've been playing Fallout 3 on the PC. I like it a lot, maybe not as much as Prime 3 but that will change once the G.E.C.K. (mod tools) come out. Looking forward to making some really awesome guns wink

Lastly, I'm looking forward to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, which I'll be getting for Christmas. Loved the first, never played the second, but this one looks like everything I could ever dream of.

I was in a bad rut of no video games for a long time. College football season pretty much consumed the past 3-4 months of my life. Now that it's over I picked up my XBox again. I finally beat Assassin's creed and now I'm just collecting the flags to get the full achievement points.

My wife got me Guitar Hero World Tour for Christmas and let me have it early. I'm not really a GH fan (this is my first GH game) because I'd rather play my REAL guitars. But, our friends like to play it and I have to admit it's grown on me a little bit. Still no substitute for the real thing, but it's fun. I'm about 60% of the way done with an easy career. I really need to bump it up a notch, but I want to get the "easy mode" achievement first.

I've also dusted off ncaa 09 and I'm unlocking achievements for that as well.

There aren't really any new games out that I really want. Probably the next one that has caught my eye is the Ghostbusters game scheduled for next June.

When I heard rumors that the Ghostbusters game was going to get axed, a part of me died inside.

But it's still going and it certainly looks promising. I just hope the gameplay is up to snuff. I'm a little worried that all the effort put into making an extension of the (excellent) movies may put enjoyable gameplay on a backburner.

I'm loving the PS3 I got a couple months ago. Currently playing GTA: IV, Battlefield: Bad Company, and Grid.

Grid is the best racing game I've played, IMO.

Still playing Fallout3. JUST like Oblivion, but with firearms. BTW: GameStop had told me that there are like 200 or so endings. Time to go find the other 199, Mac.

In Oblivion, I have something like 120 hours. I'm the big honcho for Dark Brotherhood, Fighter's, Thieve's, and Mage's Guilds. Something like level 36 Khajiit. When fully loaded coming out of a cave, I'm carrying like 700-800 pounds of crap. Just sold off like 2 tons of cave-loot, which netted me something like 300,000 gold. Next up, try to finish the last 2 Daedric quests, misc. quests, alchemy quests, then finally take on the main quest.

Finished AC6 a few times. That was a good game. Still waiting for NFS to get back to the days of Hot Pursuit or something. Simply not digging the current format. Does nothing for me. If I wanted that much control, I'd buy Gran Tourismo or something.

I went through about a year long slump from playing any video games. Then one day off work I fired my up my projector and picked up the 360 controller again.

I have been waiting 8, YES EIGHT!, years for Diablo 3 to finally come out, and it has finally been announced and should be released by Summer 09'.!!!1!!!111!! So excited, it looks amazing.

Other than that, been playing UT, GOW, COD, Halo3, Forza and BLACK.

Even went back and played Final Fantasy 7 for PS (and only FF7, the rest are junk) the second best game ever, besides Diablo.

FF7 was the greatest game ever made for the PS, and possibly the PS2. My wife STILL plays that game from time to time. We even got the Knights of the Round Materia. That is a no-joke kind of spell. Still yet to beat the machine in the desert outside the casino and the underwater machine. Those aint no punk. I was able to beat the last iteration of Sephiroth without the Knights, but that only worked once. My wife still yet to beat the game. Poor girl.

Haha, funny you should mention that, FF7 has been my outlet recently (on the PC). I'm on the third huge materia quest, just finished collecting all the "hidden" materias.

One other game that I play occasionally is Albatross18, an "extreme" golf game, lol. http://a18.ogplanet.com/main.og

I've been enjoying GTA 4 for PC because of its farther draw distances on PC then in the consoles. As for other games I also have been playing Left 4 Dead which has really got me going. I play with my roommates in coop and formed many squads within it, very fun game.

Rick, I absolutely hate Knights of the Round, it takes WAY TOOOO LONG. I wish you could disable the animation sequence. The easiest way to level up your chars and materia is to go to Mideel and fight the monsters there in the forest.

The monster in the desert by the Gold Saucer area is much easier than the Underwater guy.

Their is so much I could go on about FF7, it simply was the greatest game of its time and will be a classic, for sure.

Makes me want to watch the Advent Children movie now lol.

Did you ever play the spin off of Vincent Valentine? Dirge of Cerberus, it's a 1st person shooter for PS2.

Herc, when you get COD:WAW hit me up (Awesome game, i'm addicted to the online play)... and anyone else that has it on PS3.

Been playing some Madden and NCAA from time to time. Also MGS is a fun game to put in. Other than that, the games on the market suck.

Waiting for UFC Undisputed '09, Resident Evil 5, and the new God of War for PS3.

my wife was speaking of tryin to get the Valentine spin-off games, as she LOVES that character, but we just havent put forth any effort in finding it. No biggie. Those animation sequences is what made the spells worth casting, IMO. That, and Super Nova that Sephiroth had cast. THAT was an awesome spell to watch!

You're a Sublime fan who plays guitar. We really do have to hang out some time.

Those games (Rockband, Guitar Hero WT, etc.) are really fun once you get good at them. My roommate has it and we can beat just about every song on expert. It's a blast.

As for gaming for me at the moment... I dusted off the N64. Playing some old Zelda.

Dude that game was awesome.... back in the day. I have hours, upon hours, UPON HOURS wrapped up into that game.

Funny story. Last year, my buddy stole his brother's N64 and we went out and bought that Bond game (like $10 used), we put it in and played it for like 10 minutes. Got bored, and ended up selling the system and game for like $30 back at the store we got the game from (The Exchange). Got 2 cases of beer and went back to playing Rainbow 6:Vegas on his 360. cheers

Well I have a broken xbox 360 sitting in my room that I can't seem to fix (if you have any ideas hit me up). But other than that I recently picked up "Maple Story" again (it's an MMORPG) and it's pretty fun as long as you have some other friends to play with.

Hopefully I can get this xbox fixed otherwise I have to buy another.

Heavy like an M2 Browning heavy. Litterally rips people apart in-game. Lemme get some screenies if I can...

I took a screenie of the carnage this gun reaps but I felt it might be a little much. Wiped out the Rivet City Marketplace in about 45 seconds.

Yeah too bad you live on the other side of the country!

Some Sublime songs were the first ones I learned on guitar (along with Nirvana and Green day). Falling Idols was the song that taught me barre chords for the first time....just slide them down the neck..

I have a Epi Les Paul, but I saw a good deal on a used, "smoke" colored Ibanez S540. It's the same guitar Brad used in the Groove Tube video and on the Hong Kong Phooey song. They are both on Youtube.

If you ever come to Oregon (or hopefully Michigan if I ever move back) give me a shout.

I borrowed MK vs DC from a friend tonight and it's pretty fun. The story is cheesy, but I miss having a good fighting game. I don't think I've owned a fighting game since MKII on the Super Nintendo!

Yo, Zerg, is the GECK available for 360?

Also, that looks like a .50 CAL mini gun. What in the name of this green Earth hath thoust done? Come with blueprints, schematics, and parameters: I want one! Only follow-on problem: explaining to the Feds why I need an FFL3 and how I got ahold of such a evil weapon. Good build.

EDIT for name. Sorry Zerg and Zuul, got yall mixed up.

The towel trick (DON"T EVER DO IT!!) is when you wrap your 360 in a towl and turn it on so it over heats and in theory all the solder melts back into place... But you have to remember that the whole thing is over heating so your messing up the CPU, GPU, MOBO, ext...

The X-clamp is where you open up the case and remove the X clamps from the back of the mobo and replace the screws with different screws as well as washers (nylon and zinc). Then turn it on and let it heat up till the RRoD changes to the overheating light then wait a few more minutes then turn it off and let it sit for 1 hour. Then it in theory should be fixed.

I don't get that too. lol That's why I'm Sony videogame fan. Nintendo and Xbox suck. I do still have Super Nintendo system when I was kid. Now, I'm older. Nintendo still have kid games. :p

why not just re-solder the connections? It's really not that hard. Spend about 100 USD at Radio Shack on some soldering irons, flux, solder, and stainless soldering tool/brush and another 3 USD at Walmart on Isopropyl alcohol and a stiff nylon paintbrush, you're set to solder a veritable BATTALION of consoles.

Also, forgot to add to the question of GECK: What is GECK, what does it stand for, what exactly is it good for? I understand you make weapons. Got it. What else? What the suspenseful wait?

Thanks DeathReap, I appreciate the answer.

Because it isn't normal soldering. It's micro soldering.

Picked up COD WAW.

Solo play was pretty short.

So far love in the game.

BAR sucks. It just doesn't have the stopping power of what it should.

The G.E.C.K. is the Garden of Eden Creation Kit.

In the story of the game it's the device that "rebuilds" the planet once the Vaults open up after the fallout is over.

Outside the game, however, it's the dumbed-down version of the exact tools Bethesda used to make the game. With it you can do and make everything the original designers were able to make. AI changes, make new interiors and exteriors, new items, everything.

Unfortunately, it's PC only. As are all mods created with it frown Sorry Richard.

Speaking of MS anyone catch their latest commercial about Mojave?

Vista must be tankin hard. The commercial fools people into thinking MS came out with another OS and it was called Mojave when in reality it was Vista and people "loved it

My wife's PC has Vista. It works fine. It's not as bad as everyone says.

It's not great, but it's not bad.

The hardest part is when my wife has a PC question now I have to tell her "I don't know" because I've never used Vista.

It seems like the typical computer users that are on internet and word for most part enjoy vista. The problem comes when you talk to the gamers, the desktop publishing crew and everyone else who uses more intense software on vista. I tried running vista ultimate, I gave it a month to prove itself, i ended up hating it and deleting it and reinstalling Windows XP Pro.

I have very limited experience with Vista. Just pointing out people must not like it very much if MS is trying to trick people into liking it.

From a tech stand point, Vista is JUNK. It is nothing more then a HUGE process hog... I disable and strip it down the the bare minimum... And with Windows 7 release right around the corner (so they say in Jan '10), it looks like Microsoft is trying to make the best of Vista and get it behind them...

Vista is nothing more then "Eye Candy"

I can't believe that's still an issue you'd think MS woulda got their act together already.

They fixed it on the newer xbox's. It is still happening to the first version of the 360.

after about how many hours will the 360 fail? I have about 120 hours on Oblivion, and have stalled a few times, but nothing major.

ALSO: how many others have been able to complete the Clavicus Vile quest on Oblivion? Everytime I talk to Vile to either keep the Umbra sword or get the Vile Masque, the game locks up and I hafta restart. Anyone else experience this?

Well UFC just came out today and boy is it an awesome game. This is a must own for any MMA/boxing/wrestling lover. Character models are a 10/10! The controls are easy to use and they perform really well. NOT a button masher game. When it comes to the ground game you better know what your doing to you will get KO'd or summitted. So that's well a good percentage of my time will be occupied on. Happy gaming!!!

My 3rd xbox broke the other day....I was very upset seeing as most of the issues were supposedly fixed when the newer elites came out...I had bought a warranty through Circuit City (before they were going under) I believe they're supposed to honor the warranty still *fingers crossed* and hope they'll at least refund my money so I can buy a new one instead of sending it to microsoft and getting a trash refurbished one back... As far as games go the first GoW is my favorite...GoW 2 disappoints with the lame smoke grenades and lots of other things...I'm awaiting the release of Modern Warfare 2!!

I played the Tiger Woods 10 demo the other night. I might just have to pick up a copy. It's a pretty decent game. I'm not a huge golf guy but I like to swing a club here and there.

I think NHL 10 will also be a very good game. I will probably get Madden 10 again this year, although i'm getting burned out on their "same game, new roster" style of gaming.

I'm still waiting for the 1.5 patch for SOCOM:Confrontation and some DLC. This wait better be worth it since I feel they put out a game that is not nearly as complete as it was supposed to be.

Zipper is coming out with a game called MAG. Supposed to be a militay type game that will hold 256 players at one time. 128 vs 128. Then its broken down into platoons and squads.

And of course I can't wait to get God of War III on the PS3.
