I have gotten into the dark beer lately but don't know much about it. I have been drinking leiney's (wisconsin brewer) and spotted cow. Any recommendations?

Sam Adams Cream Stout and Black Lager. Got a pack of the lager in the house right now. They also have a Double Bock, but I have yet to try it.

Dr. Pepper is dark enough for me, and I'd recommend it to anyone!

Not a big fan. I prefer the taste of Pepsi, because it's sweeter.

Ahh Pepsi's new berrys and creme and caramel creme are the best. Plus they are diet and you'd never even know it. LOL Just had a new micro brew from my beverage store it's brewed by Clipper city Brewing Company and called Peg leg. It's and imperial stout, nice and dark and ohh so smooth. I'll have to go back and get more. Oh and it's 8% alcohol so a couple will do ya. http://www.clippercitybeer.com/home/beers_heavyseas.htm

My all time favorite dark beer would have to be Root. Especially when you add a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream to it...yum. yum.

For dark beers, try searching for lagers and stouts.
I'm not a dark beer person, so I can't recommend many specific brands, but lagers and stouts are the two types you'd enjoy.

I'm a casual drinker, I do it just to enjoy whatever it is I'm drinking. I don't chug whole cases or packs, I'm not even a social drinker. Beer was an acquired taste (I used to not touch the stuff), but I'll only drink one every now and then and by itself.

i say pepsi...unless there is jack daniels around than i say coke!
As for beer...Pabst Blue Ribbon! if its good enough for Wyatt Earp, its good enough for me!
i also have come to really enjoy good beer too. not sure if you have it around you but the best summer beers are Bells Oberon and Arcadia Whitsun. Both are local kalamazoo/BC in Michigan. they also have a fine selection of stouts and porters though those types of beers and a bit much for me.

Wow, a six pack for a few weeks? Sometimes I forget I live in wisconsin. I will drink a 12pk a night, 3 or 4 nights a week, and that is just hanging out with friends and having a beer or two thats not getting sauced!
Beer, brats and the packers, we are like a different county!

I like Beamish Irish Stout. I don't have it too often because not too many places carry it.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing Richard. Grape jelly, mustard, pudding, milk, and beer.
Oh and I just noticed the DoubleStuf Oreo's sitting on top of the fridge!

I only have two beers in the house atm: Miller Lite and Michelob's Bavarian Style Wheat.
Also, can or bottle? I prefer bottle.

I'm no help here. Can't stand the stuff. Which is good because I'm still underage How about Guiness? My friend said the stuff is like black be he's the same friend who said the Pontiac Solstice had a V8 so his credibility is low.

I've never heard "Pork Chop in a Bottle" before lol. Ugh, now I'm seeing images of people drinking liquified brats from bottles at Miller Park. The scariest part is, why am I thinking about Miller Park? I hate sports... except paintball

Bottles ftw!
I've got a few fav's I like... Guiness, Murphy's, Young's Double Chocolate Stout, and a few others...
I actually have a nice Chocolate Stout that I brewed up back in January. It's pretty damn decent if you ask me.

when I used to drink, I could NOT stomach the taste of a dark. I can deal with pales and blondes and such like that, but no darks. I used to really enjoy Miller Light, Miller High Life, MGD, Bud Lite, Bud Ice, Corona, Dos Equis, Killians Irish Red, and Strongbow Cider (or is it Longbow?). Anymore, I might be able to stand the taste of one or two beers a month or one gin-and-some-mixer a month.
God, I'm gettin old.

I'm fine with bottles or cans. I prefer cans for a trashy or lame party, or while out grilling dinner. I prefer bottles when around good friends, sit-down meal, or slightly more 'formal' occassions. Either way I'm not picky, haha.
Still relatively young... was "raised" (survived high school parties) on light/cheap beer. Darker beer is still growing on me. I hate guiness, sorry. Porkchop in a bottle? Try 12,000 mile used engine oil in a bottle...

Gotta be bottle, anybody from wisconsin had beer from a local brewery call New Glaurus? They have I think about 8kinds of beer. I have had spotted cow and fat squirel. mmmm.... pork chops, and liquid brats. Lonezergling whats up? Underage? I don't think I have ever heard that being a reason for somebody to not drink. I have been going out since my 3year older friends got their liscense. Which you guessed it, made me about 13.

Since this is beer talk thread...
I've taken a liking to Tecate (Mexican). It seems like a nice blend of a few different tastes. I also need to get my hands on some sam adams summer ale....
