It's got to be a lot. Even the reading on the odometer underestimates what the bike went through.

That was a cool video. What a strange bike to do that on, his back and ass must have been sore after that.

On sport bikes, I've found that I'm less sore because I keep my back straight. On a crusier, I slouch really bad so I'm sore after 15 minutes.

Really, I've never ridden a cruiser so I can't compare. The one time I rode a street bike (GSXR 750) I was having so much fun I didn't notice my posture or if it was uncomfortable or not. thumbsup

The YZF R1, 998cc, 180-horsepower ram-air fuel-injected engine, boasts awesome performance and driver comfort. The new seat designs are excellent. The R1 is only second to one the GSXR-1.-my opinion- The only reason people claim their uncomfortable is because their posture is not right. Ive got several 500+ mile trips under my belt and each time on a GSX-R 750 But them cruisers lost their clamed comfort over to the Performance side. Oh btw, here a little tip for people not that assured with Suzuki's models. The Hyabusa is not a sport bike. smile

The Busa is a Cruiser. Dont worry, everyone messes it up. A simple dead give away is how all the sport series are labeled GSX-R 600 etc etc. The Busa is GSX-1300-R
Sport Bike Family GSXR
The GSX is a different Line.

the Suzuki site lists the Hayabusa as a sport bike. It isnt included in their line of cruisers. Plus I dont know of a single cruiser bike that has a DOHC inline 4cyl engine with a screaming redline...the Honda Valkyrie Rune was the last holdout for a cruiser bike that isnt a V-twin Harley clone. I'm not trying to flame on anyone here, because I can see how a bike as big and heavy as the Busa probably doesnt handle and feel like a raw sportbike. I would call it more of a dragstrip fugitive, but it definitely aint no cruiser...awesome video btw, reminds me of that show they had on Bravo "Long Way Round" with Ewan McGregor and his buddy on those BMWs...you gotta love riding to do it under those kind of conditions...they got tougher backsides than me!

quoted from Suzuki

The 2005 Hayabusa GSX1300R . Experience its performance and you'll know why it's known as the ultimate sport machine.

Besides cruisers have an upright riding position with the riders feet in front of him

Standards are upright with the riders feet below him

And Sport Bikes are a forward lean riding position with the feet behind the rider

So explain to me how the Busa fits the cruiser catagory?

And Suzuki lists it under their sportbike section not their cruiser line up.

lol. Yeah yeah yeah. Thats how it's Advertised blah blah blah. That's why most people think it's a sport bike. But the truth is the Busa is in the GSX line. The GSX as such for the Katana. My mistake, they added a prefix and adjusted the name. I was wrong. lol Its a sport. Sport touring Classification though. But its a common mistake. Ask any Factory Certified Trained Technician. And the only way to become a F.A.S.T. technician is to go through the only training facility at M.M.I. ( Motorcycle Mechnics Institute) Orlando, Florida / Phoenix Arizona. M.M.I. Being a Sub. Of UTI. Let me Scrounge up some Information concerning the Classification of the catigories and i'll try and get them to you. Anyhow its just a title.

Even the GSX line are considered sport bikes. Granted they are not the "fastest". The GSXRs are more race oriented then the standard GSXs. For example

Your logic is working like this a camaro ss is just a fast grocery getter but the standard V-8 powered camaro is a sports car.

It was my Mistake. I messed it up lol. Like usuall, I should leave the posting to K.C. But Yes you are right with The GSX being considered somewhat Sport bikes. Thats what Suzuki considers the standardized GSX-R. The Katana doesnt fall under the Standardized, Should be under the "Failure" Catg.. And the Gsx-1300-r falls under Sport Touring.

Here's an easy way to handle this: Don't buy a Suzuki. Try a nice Honda.

Actually, as a side note, Sport Rider magazine just did their shootout of the 1k bikes and it went:

Suzuki GSX-R1000
Yamaha R1
Kawasaki ZX-10R
Honda CBR1000RR

Yes, the Honda came in last. Kawasaki beat it out based on horsepower.
