My first car or I should say truck was a Ford. I swear that Ford does make some damn good trucks. They made better ones in the 80s then the fricken dodges anyway> Chevy trucks were the best though. I liked my 1986 Ford F150 XLT Lariat even though it was a rust bucket lol. I used to ram it into things and just beat the hell out of it lol. Well anyway in conclusion to this whole Ford thing if they made one good thing it was the Ford F150 trucks from the 80s. I would really like an F250 86 version again someday with low miles. IF anyone has anything to say about them let me hear about it? anyone ever have one and liked it as well or not?

My dad's had good luck with his Ford trucks and my friend has a 85 F-150 with the inline 6 and a 4 speed. Just a bumper hitch and he pulled another F-150 home the other day. It's got A LOT of miles on it, and it shows. But it keeps on going.

My family has a lot of Chevy trucks that seem to hold up pretty good, and they're mostly farm trucks that are well used. I was driving a 1989 Chevy 2500 with a 350 for a few days when my car was being worked on. Really liked it, it was a 4 speed, with a low, so only 3 useable gears really. It ran pretty good, only problem being the 8MPG. It had the same turning radis as my car! LOL If I were to get something else, I'd look for a Chevy 1500, 4x4, 4 or 5 speed...but I'd also want the V6 for gasmileage.

(LOL) Good one brown.

Ford makes good trucks but I think there cars suck except certain models of the mustang. Although my mom has been lucky with her ford far as the mileage that she has.

Ford used to make good vehicles, but that ship has long since left the dock. Lately they have been plagued with quality issues and their business has suffered significantly.

My parents had a 96 aerostar. It had 190k on the clock when it was totaled in an accident. I'm almost certain that they would still have it had it not been for the accident. It never had any mechanical problems, except for the driveshaft falling out. (lol) Always check to make sure that the joints arent broken!

Yeah Ill have another 80ish F150 some day. The only down fall is what the one dude said about the gas mileage. I went to the casino a couple of times in the truck and would burn half a tank there and back lol. In my grand prix im lucky to burn 1/4 tank. The truck would get roughly 180 miles to a 14 gallon tank. Not the greatest in the world. 12.85 miles to a gallon could have been worse though i suppose. Ill have another heap someday to beat the hell out of lol.

lol lol

That's great... I have some friends that have mustang GT's, and my mom used to have one, and all I can say, is that is it pretty sad that ford calls that a muscle car....

About the Trucks, I don't care for Ford's, unless it has the powerstroke...Other than that, newer ones = no power.
I have had 3 chevy trucks, all different years, or models, and I don't believe I will ever by a different brand, that is unless Pontiac makes a truck in the future.
My '92 silverado that I had in high school had 250,000 mi on the engine, (4.3 V-6) when I replaced w/ a 5,7L for more power, and I sold the 4.3 to a friends dad, who is still driving it, with no problems. That is over 300,000 mi on the eng. and it still doesn't use a drop of oil

well chevy may have made good truck engines but they sure didnt make a good engine for my 95 Monte Carlo Z34. That 3.4L had so much wrong with it. Leaked/burned oil like crazy.

I know that engine VERY well, done a few re-builds and that is a nice engine! I would say one of fords best... alot of low-end torque
