Some states have no tolerance for speeding. Apparently FL is one of them. :-) What does "excessive speeding" constitute? Is that like careless driving?

I believe he is doing 140 mph on 70 mph speed limit. He tried pass BMW or Lexus that he doesn't want to bother with them. So he speed it up to pass this car to get away from that. He just got wrong time and wrong place busted by police. Is that right 20GTP02?

Lucky it wasn't an arrest and license suspension if that's the case. $400 seems paltry in comparison to what it could have been.

Was clocked doing 100, only did 100 maybe 1/8 mile. I've done 140+ and I'm done with that. I'll do those speeds again on track or n some race car machine.

I was fined 290 for doing 80 in a construction site back in 2005. The speed limit was 50 mph and the cop gave me a break and didn't put down reckless driving.

I supposedly got clocked 101 in a 45 a little over a year ago. Got me for reckless, and took me to jail. Bailed out the next day. $190 for bail, $140 to get my car back. Foolishly decided to hire a lawyer for $1000, and all he did was get it dropped to a speeding ticket, which I could have done myself, and I paid $280 for the fine and court costs. The down side, is I was only doing 80-85...not that I'm going to argue that. Still more than 25 over. Stupid small town cops...if it had been in the city I live in, I would have gotten a speeding ticket & been on my way. Oh well, it was still my decision. On the bright side, for some reason, nothing ever hit my record, so my insurance never increased.
