Just curious where everyone works at, what it is/what you do and how long they have been working there.

I work for American Eagle Outfitters, in the stockroom, I put sensors on all the clothes, and I've worked there for not quite 2 years.

On Sundays I work for the Geek Squad. I did this durring the week too before the research job, and have been with them since 2003. (pays for mods and toys)

I also have my own live sound system company. We have a couple jobs a month on the weekends. (pays for more equipment. nearly a loss)

At an office surrounded by engineers and physicists. My job description (as Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation NCO (RDTENCO)) includes scientist-military end-user liason, electronics technician support, test/experiment support, and logistical support.

In the hangar, I would be, as a SGT/E-5, a team leader charged with:
caring for, training, and supervising all aspects of my 5 Soldier's lives.

As a SSG/E-6 (AVIONICS Survivability and Systems Repair NCO), I would be more administrative as the Squad Leader. I might still be able to fix the equipment occasionally, I would conduct the same duties as a Team Leader, only with about 15-25 Soldiers instead of only 5. I would have about 3-5 Team Leaders working for me.

I have been in for 9 years, 11 months, 21 days, 4 hours, and 30 minutes. Not like I've been counting. Only 2 and a half years to go. CMON 214!!!

I work for Honeywell International in their Specialty Materials division. Which is a sugar coated way of saying I work in a chemical plant. The location was originally owned by Allied Chemical who later became Allied Signal who then merged with Honeywell to become Honeywell International. The plant I work at produces various types of nylon resins which are delivered in chip form. I have been at this location for almost 30 years and have held quite a few positions during my tenure here. I have produced nylon fiber for tire cord, seat belts, auto air bags and mostly carpet fiber.
I have also worked in plastics compounding where we have produced specialty plastics for fuel tanks, intake manifolds, power tool casings and an almost endless list of smaller applications. I presently work in Recycle and Recovery operations where we reprocess the water used through distillation and recover any residual lactam (nylon's raw material) and protect against contamination to our enviroment. I work rotating shifts and double shifts so it has been demanding at times but it has paid the bills and provided good benefits. Hopefully I will be able to retire and work part time in another 5 years.

Tbat, that sounds interesting, right up my alley! My college background was in manufacturing engineering and I love working in plants.

Now, I work for HP. I manage all of the logistics/shipping accounts for the repairs in the US.

No, I can't get anyone a discount, but if you have questions about products, I can assist.

Hey Brown, I worked for UPS during Christmas time for 7 days. I worked unloading from 1am-9am 3 days. Between four guys, we unloaded 28 tractor trailors and once the gate opened boxes poored out. That was back breaking work especially just going straight in and not use to the work hours. Then the last four days I was at the end of the belt line and received all the packages the others couldn't feed off, wrong addresses, and the five trucks I had to load with one other dude. Both tasks were insane!

I am a supervisor for Tower automotive here in Smyrna TN. We build all the fames for the Nissan Pathfinder, Xterra, and Frontier for the Nissan plant here. We will also be doing in the future some of the parts for the unibody that goes on the Altima. Plus that will give us some advantage when they go back to a unibody on the next phase of the pathfinder, which we all expect they will do since it used to be a unibody. but ...Anyways, that what I do. Weld and watch others weld....lol

I've been working for my Dad's company, Sobieski Drywall, for about 3 years now.

On a day to day basis I mask off houses and spray wall textures like sand texture, knockdown, orange peal, and smooth.

I also prime and paint almost every house we spray texture in, along with scrapping all the floors.

On rare occassions I'll haul drywall sheets from house to house, scrap houses, and do repairs and busywork.

I'll do little drywall repairs for friends and family on weekends too.

I work at Durolast roofing been there one week. I started off as a laminator making my 8.35 an hour and I couldnt handle it becuase I have almost 0 depth perception. Well anyways now 3 weeks later and been to the eye dr about 5 times and the phone 25 times im now working in the reworks area. That means that I take all the scraps and try to turn them into other things that we use for roofs.

Retired from the Navy in 03 after a little over 22 years. I was a Boiler Technician. Operated and did maintenance on boilers, engines and all the associated equipment. Nothing like 1,200 PSI, 1000 degree steam to turn an engine with 70,000 shaft horse power. 8 boilers and fours shafts on aircraft carriers, (except the nukes). Pushing close to 40 knots on something that big is a kick in the pants. I currently work as civil service for the Navy as a Marine Surveyor/Shipbuilding Specialist. Write repair specifications and provide government oversight for said repairs. In other words, I watch people work. Currently working in Bahrain, in the Persian Gulf, and hoping to be back in Jacksonville, Florida in April 08.

Working on commission can be great or it can really really suck.

Don't let those wiley vets let you do all the work then come in and steal the sale.
