My work hired a new kid and we were all chatting during lunch. Another guy was talking about his Memorial Day weekend motorcycle ride to Texas. This kid was floored that he went to Texas and back in three days. Seems in his 22 years of living, he has been to 4 of the 50 states. Got me thinking. Am I odd that my family travels a lot? I've been to 35.

I've been to roughly 27 states, going to Hawaii tomorrow.

I've sadly only been down the east coast as far south as SC and then PA. My dad has been to all the lower 48. The stories he tells me of his mom, brother and himself traveling from like 10 - 16 with his mom broke and working at a job in each town for awhile to save up and continue finding herself just amazes me.

On the iPod right now I'll do a map later. But with family just goofin off not counting cross country moves I'd say roughly 20. With moves you can add another six or eight. All told goofin off moving and work I've been to 48 states (Montana and Wisconsin are the two left) and a few territories.

Growing up my family was always off exploring new areas. I do the same with my kids. I wouldn't have it any other way. I know a few people who never ventured more then 100 miles away from home. I can't imagine that. The travelling is what I miss most since I left c130s. And in 15 months my work travel comes to an end.

I'm 22 and I think I counted 32 total. My father was in the military, so we got around. Been to Europe too. Germany and I believe some of the surrounding countries.



Looks like i'm lacking the New England states, probably because i'm a STEELERS fan!

im 22 and when i was younger my parents would always take my brother and I on road trips. I love traveling and seeing new places and different things in each state and how people do things soo differently than what you are used to at home.

I think it is also a bad thing, because with me loving to travel so much i have put on 60,000 miles on my car in just under 3 years...haha

Sense a pattern with mine lol? The farthest west I've been was Michigan International Speedway, and that was fairly recent. I've never been to a different time zone though.

I didn't count the states I've just driven through. Not a whole lot of travel. Also been to Canada and Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Also been to Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Germany. May be going to France soon for work

EDIT: Also if I sell my house and move back to Michigan I hope to take the northern route and go through montana and the dakotas.

Amongst just a few countries

Military brats and those in the armed forces shouldn't count.

That is one of the reasons a lot of people join the service.Free travel. Before we had kids, I always told my 1st Sgt that I would go anywhere anytime, just give me 2 hours to pack.
If Military people don't count, then you need to remove the states you have been to due to your work, cause that is our job. I would only have to remove 2 states due to my Military carear. Alaska and Mass, the rest I have been to for vacation and to visit relatives.

have always lived in the chicago suburbs, so I've mostly stayed in the midwest, although I can add Canada and Jamaica as countries (as well as the dominican republic next week for the honeymoon)

I want to start visiting 3-4 baseball stadiums every summer starting next year, so that will definitely help get me some more states

Ironically enough the only state you'd have to remove for my work would be the state I currently live in...Oregon. ha ha. Every other state has been vacation, or a place I lived in.
