Okay well I'm tired off the sidekick 3 I've had this phone for year, and a half and its been replaced at least 4 times. Right now I've been dealing with my screen being blank or just lights up white. Idk something is messed up with the swivle. But I'm been thinking a lot about gettting the new iphone 3G. Right now I pay 39.xx for my plan I think its 400 anytime mins/ night and weekend free with 20.00 unlimited email/texts/web/aim/msn/yahoo. With taxes and warrenty I pay 72.xx a month. I called a store, and the guy was not much help. But I was able to get this info. 39.xx 450 anytime mins/ 5000 night, and weekend I think rollerover mins too. Plus 30.xx for web/email. Also 5.00 for 200texts which sucks! Or 20.xx unlimited which ill just stick with 200 texts. I don't really talk that much on the phone. I mainly use it for web/aim/texts. I'm not worried about having to cut down on texts bu5t what does suck ill lose aim. But gain being able to watch videos! But idk what do you guys think about the iphone 3G? Over hyped? Again.....

As I said in the other phone thread from a few days ago, I'd go with a smartphone from Palm versus Apple. Cheaper, more open (lots of non-proprietary apps), plays video, etc.

Also, like I said in the other phone thread I'm going with the 3G iphone. I like the iphone a lot, and I've been waiting for the 3G version to get one.

The apps are coming now with the SDK and apple opening it more. The fact that it uses Microsoft activsync now allows me to connect to my work email so that was a deal maker for me.

Plus it has GPS and I dont think a lot of Palms come with GPS (I could be wrong).

Fair enough, you asked for input and I gave some. Just pointing out that there are other smartphones that are significantly cheaper with the features you mentioned. That said, if the iPhone's what you want, I'm sure you'll be satisfied.
