Why is everyone obsessed with twin turbos? It means double the parts, double the heat, and double the cost. Single turbo setups are fine 95% of the time.

Intense's Twin turbo idea is for marketing purposes and to be more competitive. Choose a turbo from zzp or a twin turbo from Intense.

The idea of a twin turbo is more tempting to some folks even though a single large turbo is probably better (not 100% sure. Just based on other forums and TV shows).

Good move on Intense's part to get in ahead of the game while the G8 momentum is high amongst pre-GP owners. Can't stay in the 3800 market comfort level forever.

They are probably going to do stuff like the old one with cams, injectors, rockers, diff, etc. Hopefully, their research will be thorough as going in early can backfire. If they make bad parts, zzp will swoop in to get complainers as they would have time to research.

EDIT: Opps, the twin-turbo is just a rumor.

Yeah, they just ripped pictures from APS of the Commodore since it hasn't been installed on a G8 yet.

In fact there would have to be customization of the kit I think unless APS has already altered the kit to work with the G8.

They should've waited imho to list it until they had actually installed it in a car first. It's just like intense to push a product for a car before fit and testing are done.

Not much customizing would be needed. Just a few tweeks. Maybe a pipe length change and simple stuff that most competenent mechs could figuere out on their own.

Remember the G8 is the Commodore and APS has been producing kits for that for a while now. I bet they have a kit waiting in the wings for the new Commodore/G8.

What they shoulda done was buy the kit. Reverse engineer it. Build their own with enough differences to get past patent issues and have an "Intense" Twin Turbo set up for the G8 to debut at SEMA. That woulda put them on the map.

Granted, but I bet there are enough differences that it wouldn't be just a bolt in. I would also be a little concerned with the programming in the pcm as I'm sure there are differences between the two cars just based on the fact that they are for different countries with different regulations.

It probably wouldn't make that much difference, but I wouldn't buy it until it had been actually installed and tested on an american G8.

diff between twin turbo and single turbo that everyone likes is the spool time.....with large turbos you need Nitrous or something on the low end for oomph

For an intercooler + 2 turbos, 6.5k sounds about right in comparison to other TT car prices I've seen.
If that's aussie's long used system, I feel better about it.

Problem is, they need a lower tier turbo option as well. 6.5k is a huge chunk of change. A $3-$4k option will get more buyers. As soon as a company becomes available for it, then its a go.

I'm sure ZZP will be a reseller for this APS turbo soon as well.

Which is one of the reasons why a twin turbo system is stupid, especially for an initial offering.

Only 557 whp on that first link! Did I not read something. So that is like 700-800 hp, thought it would be more.

Hardly a mess with the placement of the oil filter!
