The front plate I'm cool with, after thinking about it. I'm talking about, for example, saying it's a partial pic when 98% of the car is showing, or saying it's got plates on it when they are slightly visible and totally not legible.

I am kind of curious, though, why he has a plate in that pic and a plate cover in another...

As long as the plates are illegible. If one letter or number can be made out it's rejected.

Come on people the rules are very clear.

We are trying to keep this as top notch as we can plus we even limited membership eligablity to prevent people from joining the board just to get in the calander.

Just look at the number of active board members there are 12 spots for winners. Odds are pretty good as long as you stay in the rules. Plus all calander worthy submissions will be on the cover. So as long as you follow the rules your car will be in print.

We havent started taking photos you still have plenty of time to reshoot and plan out your photos.

To clarify the no partial pics.

The car must be framed by the foreground and background. Palsuts pic and snowriders are good examples.

If the car goes off the edge of the picture it's no good.

While we all want this calender to look good, I kinda think you're taking it TOO seriously...how does everyone else feel?
I completely disagree.
Herc and I came up with the rules that are posted. The rules are crystal clear and as I posted in the rules, no gray areas.
I don't think I'm the one who is killing it. I think it's being killed by those who seem to want to make every attempt to not follow the rules, and the gallery that's cheering him on to not follow the rules. I've been in discussion with 01GT and he knows exactly what my thoughts are on his pics and how I would improve on them.
I'm not making up the rules as I go, they are posted and will be followed to the letter. There is a rule in place that states no partial pic. Some seem to think that means 98% of the pic is okay. It is not. 99.99% of the pic is not okay. 100% and only 100% of the pic is acceptable.
I really don't understand what is so hard about following some simple rules.
Ganging up on me about some broken rules will not get anyone anywhere. This is a level playing field. Everyone will follow the same set of rules. There will be no exceptions.
So far there have been two fine examples of what we're looking for.
I would suggest everyone go back and carefully read the rules that are in place. They are crystal clear, black and white. Please do not try to create any gray areas.
If you have any questions about a pic you're wanting to submit, feel free to ask for mine and/or Herc's ruling and be prepared to accept our ruling as it is. Herc and I will have the same ruling on the issue so it doesn't matter who you ask. If one of us is having a hard time coming to a conclusion with your issue, we'll contact the other and if necessary we will bring in a third party and put it to a vote between the three of us, just be prepared to accept the ruling as it is.

Hey guys,

Beside the two pictures posted in here that are good examples ...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say here are some pics of what would be approved for our calendar. Road & Track
There are nine pics there, but not all of them would be approved. Can you spot the two that would NOT be qualified? If you can, you're on the road to getting a good pic of what Austin and Herc are looking for! cheers

Don

The reason is because i was in the process of parking my car so that i could take the front plate off and my brother snapped the shot and i didnt even know it. but i will go back down there today and take more shots.

Out of that set I would say pics 2 & 3 are the best (pic 2 being the best of all), although I wouldn't set any of those choice in stone as to which one would be submitted.
You're more than welcome to not listen to anything else I have to say, but I would suggest not having the sun roof open all the way. Closed with it opened in vent mode looks much better than having it opened all the way back but closed in my opinion always looks better than having it opened at all.

You're on the right track and pics 2 & 3 look a lot better than anything else you've showed but with plenty of time to take more pics I would keep trying. Maybe one of those will be your best shot, I would just keep taking pics.

its the moisture inside the headlights. I sealed the headlights with silicone and it still doesnt help anything. After it does that i usually take the plugs out that are behind the capsules but that helps it sometimes but other times it never helps it!! ugh its frustrating! banghead banghead
