Saw this on another site and thought it was an interesting rendering. The Smokey color scheme looks good as well.

Looks sweet, but it is excatly like the 08 Comaro. I hate when GM takes a Designe and make everythign look like it.

I do like that rendering. If they do bring back the Trans Am (which I doubt they will), it'll be nice if they did a special edition black with the gold war bird.

Not a big fan. It would look cool without the bird on the hood.

Disappointing. Too boxy... the whole front half of the car isn't sleek-looking at all.

And there will be no bird to go along with the Camaro. Too much competition with the suposedly upcoming GTO.

What with all of Mr Lutz gritching over the new CAFE regs I wonder if you will see the new GTO at all...he seems to think that all the new RWD platforms are as good as doomed. Ipersonally dont see why since V6 powered models of those cars will go a long way to raising their CAFE average. Production numbers for performance models might be smaller but it would still be offered. Dodge still has their SRT line but it is by no means their big seller. Our cars are proof enough that you can get good performance and mileage from a decent sized car. Imagine how much that could improve with a good 5 or 6spd auto tranny. Whatever the outcome I'm sure the 'Bird is dead forever as long as Mr Lutz has a job with GM.

I actually kinda like that chop, but I don't think we'll see anything of it's kind in the near future...

Here's what I think Lutz is doing I think he's trying to bully the new CAFE standards. With GM on shaky ground and lots of vehicles in development do to replace aging models what better way to bully those who are pushing the new CAFE standards then by saying see with this outragous change our whole line up of new vehicles has to be put on hold and start from scratch. Since you the government has changed the requirements I am now X millions if not billions in the hole and I want you to help out my company.

kinda risky, aint it? The govt doesnt HAFTA help him out. They could jsut say: "you knew these new standards were coming, and you decided to disregard them anyway? No." Kinda risky to play with his employee's lives like that, doncha think?

x2 on that one.

I think the big three are in big trouble regardless of whats gonna happen. I think Toyota has taken a great step in their Synergy Drive. Getting these cars to produce less emissions is whats killing the big three and thats why Toyota has the upper hand right now. They have already produced real performing hybrids, which seems to be what a lot of people want now a days. IMO, Ford isn't going to be doing well at all in the next 10 years, and GM is going to have to make a pretty significant change to get the #1 spot again.

Don't get me wrong though, I will in no way support the hybrid cars. I am a gas burning muscle car guy born and raised.

I would have no trouble owning a hybrid as long as it was still fun to drive...and I think thats possible...I also think Herc is right on the money about GMs tactics...and as far as employee's lives go they could care less. Corporate America continues to prove time and again that fat, short term profit is king and employees are an expendable asset. I see it where I work constantly. when salaried employees lose a position there is a restructuring and they magically get a different office...when they cut hourly labor, you pack your things and go out the gate.

Chrysler was in an even worse state in the early 80s (before Iacocca) And who was it that bailed them out? Good ole Uncle Sam. Lee worked a deal with the Uncle for vehicle purchases cheap shoddy cars sold enmasse to the government to help turn enough profit for the development of their Mini-van.

Lutz is politicing hard right now and is setting up the lobbiest to help them out in getting the standards changed/modified or what ever you wanna call it.
