I thought these things were pretty quick?

I walked one from a 30 roll when he was already gassing it to get by. He had something done to it, I could hear the turbo shifts and his not-quite-ricey exhaust over my all my car's noise.

He was coming up on me in the other lane after a left hand turn. Both lanes can turn, it's one of those big city intersections, and I already had about a car on him before I noticed he was being a prick and was going to try to get around me to get in front of the car in front of him. So, about 30 was when I let him know the GP isn't a grandma car. His pull stopped at the front of the passenger door, and I steadily gained ground, moreso at first, but there at the end it was getting harder to get distance. All the way up to ~70. Don't worry, it's a big city road but there's not much in the way of things on this stretch.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't a bad shifter because he didn't lose any ground when he shifted next to me. I don't even have a 3.4" pulley. The last time it was scanned though, I had almost no KR, and LTFTs were locking at 0. The only KR I had was a tiny blip at the beginning of WOT and at the end. I'm talking less than .9*. Yes, point nine.

Anyway, I let him go. No need getting a ticket or anything. Too bad for him all his driving got him was a spot next to me at the next red light, where he promptly turned off and ran away. lol I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't let him go. He probably would have started gaining back at some point. Or not? I can't remember if they're dig cars or roll cars, but they're torquey little burners.

Edit: He was trying. I noticed I kind of downplayed how fast he was coming up on me, he was already really on it. And when I did let him go, he did what I knew he was going to: get around me, get in front of car in front of him. And man was he hoofin' it after that. Bet he felt some GP headlights burning into the back of his head.

And yes I did goose it at the red light just to get on his nerves. Bwahaha. But .. he rolled up his windows! frown Can't win everyone over with the Eaton, I guess ..

I thought they were faster than GP GT's.
I thought they were just a tad bit slower than GTP's.

I'm pretty sure they can walk a stock GTP. 230 HP turbo four-banger that weighs less than us? Especially one with any mods; I seem to remember that it's pretty easy to get an SRT4 to be able eat stock/mildly modded GTPs alive.

I've always wanted to encounter an SRT4 but I never thought I would win. On some level, it disappoints me, on another .. WOO!

Edit: whoa whoa whoa .. Backing up. Never mind, looks like they're kinda heavy; several sites I checked at say ~3k lbs. Nevermind on that part then!

They're in the mid-low 14s bone stock. Not unlike a stock GTP. I'd say they're roll cars. They don't have a lot of torque for the greatest of launches, plus you have to let the turbo spool and all that stuff.

Well that makes me all the more interested to find out what my car is running, especially since I have a stock pulley and only a CAI and exhaust.

Yeah, they run low 14's stock. If you get a performance package for em though, they can become ridiculous in a hurry

Yeah some of those high-end 4 bangers are tough.

My friend has an STi, thing runs 12.5! It was fast stock than my car is now.

ACtually, the STi is a flat-4 engine, I never knew that...

Race him from a roll on the highway and you'll win though. AWDs are good for launch, but the drivetrain slows them down beyond that.

An SRT-4 is the only car I've actually lost too, and even then, he had the advantage and didn't win by much. I rolled up next to him and revved and took off. He followed, until we finally got ahead of traffic. I let off the gas, because I wanted to go off an even roll. He didn't. He kept on it, and flew up behind me. Right as he moved over, already doing 10 or so faster than me, I floored it, and he slowly gained. We hit 105 before we let off and I turned around and went back to wherever I was headed.

When we let off, he was in front, but like I said, he started out faster than I was. Plus, I had a friend of mine in the car, which means another 150+ pounds. lol And I still didn't lose by a more than half a car length or so.

Jonathan with the white Firebird? Did he get rid of it then?

New Eclipse GT or the older one? If you can get him to go to a track with it, then sure.
