The Solstice IIRC is kind of a hodge-podge of all sorts of GM chassis and parts.
This means that if anything ever breaks, it will be pretty easy to get a (cheap) replacement.
The style is attractive, the motors are peppy, and the trannys are solid. All in all, one of the finest vehicles new vehicles to roll out of the plants.
...
You know you can drop a V8 in those right?

Thanks. It slept in my garage last night. Is a very nice car, different to drive, since the suspension is very tight and the roof is a little noisy when is up, bumpy roads reminded me when some friends cut a lot their springs and their cars bounce a lot. Let's see how this Pontiac behaves.

There are no GXP here in Mexico, in 2009 they were going to bring it, but nothing.

I wonder what the 0-60 is and how long that really light car takes to finally come back down from speed.

I'm more than willing to bet that engine will eat that trans alive. Even in such a light car.

doubt it. Tremec is THE name in trannies.
OH! Corey: why not the SBC 305? Lightweight, hellacious power, bulletproof and proven. Only other engines aside from the 305 would be 327, 350, 383, 400 SBC, 400 BBC, 427, 454, 502, 509. From that list, go ahead and eliminate the 454, 502, and 509. I, personally, would not of put any BBC in there, but they did make the 427 work. BUT, remove the other two BBCs. That then leaves 305, 327, and the 350. Of those, I would want to leave space in the bay available for me to work around in, so I would then use the 305. Diff folks and all that, ya know?

Tremecs don't like to handle that much horsepower. And aside from being good they break quite a bit. Nothing beats a Richmond TKO. Nothing.

For the cost of the motor and go fast goodies you might as well go with a 383 if your gonna do a SBC. But for a lightweight DD I'd prefer the 327. Way too many 350/383s out there.

You know, with the GP i always was desiring a GTP and more power, but with this car is different, with the top down really i don't care about speed, is a real nice ride to enjoy at medium and slow speeds. And as a friend told me "You're getting older...and boring... "
