there seems to be no end to my soft spot for homely but functional vehicles, and for some reason I seem determined to find some version of the Aztek that doesnt make people puke. I find it rather odd that the original concept vehicle was accepted rather well but the final product was a pale imitation (geez, where have we seen that before) I was looking at some pictures of Honda's new Ridgeline pickup and I see something very similar. A truck that is not so attractive but looks to be quite functional. I've always had a certain liking to the Chevy Avalanche but I have no desire or need for a full size truck. So in the spirit of functionality and some bastardized mating between a Honda, Chevy and a homely Pontiac, I present the Pontiac Aztek RidgeRunner;

Good job Tbat only I think it's too car like. Lift it about four inches and put some 31 inch all terrains on it. smile

How about an "El Camino" based on the GPs? Just a thought.

oh its gonna die without my help anyway. I was told at the car show that 05 was officially its last year of production. I suspect it will find a cult following someday as most oddball vehicles do. Herc's suggestion of a GP based "el camino" isnt a bad notion. I had never really given it a thought, but thats what PaintShop is for, visualizing ideas! So I'll probably give it a shot sometime soon, and since Herc made the suggestion it seems only fair that I chop his ride for test laugh (although I may need a sedan for that one)...and btw, one of the highest honors a chopper can recieve is when you use their pic for your new sig...thanks Austin!

I had to do some photoshop'g to it to make it work as a sig (my P/S skills are lacking any kind of talent. I'm trying to teach myself as I go. Did you notice the front plate delete? laugh ). I tried the first one you made for me, but I just wasn't happy with the way it turned out as a sig. When I saw the second one you made, I knew it work a lot better... and it did.
cheers

Here's a couple of quick ones. One with your name and one without.
I'm not too happy how the right side turned out. I might play around with it some more.

EDIT: I straightened up the right sides. I think they look a little better.

...ehh, I don't know. Like I said, my P/S skills are lacking any talent at all.

I gotta give my wife a lot of credit for the skill level I've gotten to. Even though we both use PaintShop for completely different purposes, she has been the one to show me so many of the various tool options. She also bought one of those guides "Learn PaintShopPro7 in 24 hours" and that book has been a wealth of information. But like anything else, practice makes better and I do enjoy the practice. I used to draw pics of hotrods when I was a kid but the end results of this are so much better! But there are a couple of guys over at dodgeintrepid.net that shame me into the weeds. (one of them teaches PhotoShop at San Diego State)

I think Pontiac would have paid her well for taking that many of them off their hands...of course that wouldnt have saved her from the revolt of fans or her ratings plunge from an angry press! lol

I've actually seen one of these with a 454 stuffed under the bonnet. The rear was tubbed to fit some big ole drag radials. when you looked at if from the side you would never know that thing was a drag menace.

thats why they come with the long hood.
crazy .

but they found out through more research that the 454 was not needed, it was a menece just being stock equipped, so if you see one in your rearview mirror, dont get nervous and definetly do not challenge it or it will have to unleash the true raw power that it has. its really quick if you can master the three on tree tranny.s darthvader
