We are remodeling in our basement. I was moving the stuff from a bookcase. I started flipping thru old photo albums and found pictures of my chevelle in 1988 that I just gotta share. The one of the car by the flowers was just luck. I was on my way to pick up my girlfriend at the time to go to one of her high school events. I had my Canon AE1 with me and saw this at the side of the road. I turned around and pulled off the road.

The other was my first car show after I bought the car and had it painted at the Stealership where I was a warehouse guy and parts runner. Sorry about the smudge by the door & front tire. They are fingerprints that have slightly damaged the picture. The car behind mine was the car I wanted to buy, but my dad said no. It was built by a guy he ended up knowing, and not a car for an 18 yr old. I took him to look at it. The two ended up BSing for an hour. 1972 Pontiac Lemans Convertible. 400, 4 speed, 3.73 posi.

My car today

I think I like the older rims you had on there a little more.

Some Corvette rally wheels would look slick on that.

Those 5 spokes are 71-72 Chevelle SS & 70-81 Z28 wheels. I had them years ago but once I started drag racing I sold them. They were heavy at over 65 pounds each with tires. I went to American Racing AR-23 Aluminum wheels back in 1993 and dropped a tenth in the 1/4 mile. I sold those and went with the current black in 2004. I sometimes wish I would have never went with the black wheels, but I have never seen another Chevelle around here with black wheels, so I like it. I am getting ready to add a 1/4" orange stripe at the lip, so that will break up the visual between the tire and wheel.
I would like to put American Racing 17" Black Torque Thrusts on it, but I am saving for a OD unit so I can enjoy driving it more.

torque thrust are nice but they need to be gray not black wink

Actually I think the new style Crager SS would look sweet.
