Well if you stil have the MOD buzz then yes. Too feel the most out of your mods it will be an improvement. But it is not necessary.

Yes, along with a U-bend delete, 3" D/P, cooler plugs, 180* T-stat

With the smaller pulley at least get the U-bend delete. But with the cost of having one made or buying one and having it installed go for the gusto with the 3" DP. One range cooler plugs and the 180* Tstat is a must for the smaller pulley. PCM will really wake up those mods.

For the 97 if you get the Speedbuild FWI you have to cut you quater panel up to get it to fit then you have to worry about the canister for the evap system it get is in the way and will piss you off. Also have to make sure that you dont put the cone on the evap canister b/c you will burn a whole in it and it will give you a vac leak. Installation is a little harder then they say on b/c all the evap stuff is in the way. If you didnt order it yet then i would sugjest to callin ZZP and have them set you up with a FWI and the PCM.

If dropping in pulley size, it's highly recommended that you scan so you can see how much KR has been introduced.
Anytime you drop in pulley size, you're introducing KR, even with a reprogrammed PCM.
I scanned at 9* KR, WITH a reprogrammed PCM, a different reprogrammed PCM gave me 4-5* KR, a third PCM (my current) has given me nearly 0* KR.
Every car reacts differently, that's why it's recommended scanning when dropping pulley size. Someone on CGP dropped a pulley size and scanned at 0* KR, with a stock PCM, obviously a factory freak.
Not scanning when dropping pulley size is being brave. It comes down to how lucky do you feel.
