Not my plug...came outta the neighbors Dakota....normal pickup...Over heating would cause the threads to stay in the socket??? Break the nut off the threads?

Dunno, I don't have that much experience with plugs, but the body looks slightly melted.

That's the normal type and heat range for that vehicle....the insulator is cracked, which could be why the threaded section separated. The nose doesn't look like it was too hot...strange. May have been a faulty plug, or it was dropped before installing....or was hit hard with something when in the head. Another possibility is cross-threading....the threads do look a bit galled, but it's hard to tell from the pic....did he install a new plug, and if so did it go in easily?

LOL...I should have mentioned that. My buddy couldn't take on the concept of the easy-out. He broke his vise trying to take the damn thing out. I asked him if he was turning it the right way...he insisted he was....after watching him fight w/ a couple of wrenches for a while, I grabbed them, reversed them, and out popped the easy out. I said..."you were turning it the wrong way". Any ways, that's what happened to the threads. The threads in the head easily excepted the new plug.
