About once a month we cookout as a shop (10 of us). During the winter months we normally make breakfast. Waffles, eggs, bacon and cinnamon rolls. Tonight I parboiled 20 brats in the breakroom for 2 hours with 2 cans of beer and 2 onions, than threw them on the grill for 5 minutes. We had already grilled corn on the cob. Someone brought in homemade baked beans. One guy brought French Silk & Apple pies for dessert. Of course we had Doritos, Funyons and BBQ chips. At 12:30 we have a mandatory meeting on the patio once third shift takes over. Man I love summer. Incase you don't know what parboiling is: http://www.bratwurstpages.com/brats.html OK I'm just bragging, I know. I am so full I could bust. Before you say you want to work here, 1st you need to sign your life away to Uncle Sam, then basic training, 4 months of tech school and some "other" qualifications.

We have a cook out once a month if the shift I work on is injury free for the month. If someone has to go to the clinic its automatically at least $1500; whether its a cut or a limb that got ripped off by a conveyor belt. So they give us a few bucks for food since we were safe.
We also had an open house today because we got a new building a few months ago. It was catered, we had all sorts of food and one of the FedEx race cars was on display.

UPS is brown man. FedEx is kinda white.
At work, not so much. But we throw our own little work cookouts at a friends place.

We used to have cookouts when I worked at a plant. We used to have steak cookouts each time we went 30 days injury free too. That was great.
At my current job we have our annual picnic which is pretty fun as far as company picnics go. We have had a few keggers too. I think they do a good job getting local breweries to bring in kegs of their stuff and letting us have fun. We haven't had one in a year or two now though with all the cost cutting...but it used to be fun.

the last few summers I've worked at a small tool supply company, and we cooked out every other friday, it was great, burgers, brats, dogs...but with the slow economy they don't have enough work to bring me back (so no extra money for aeroforce ) and they're not cooking out anymore to save money

Dude, cookouts AT the hangar? not really. At a local park during work hours...thats one the Army's more favorite pasttimes. Matter of fact, they even have an official designation attached to them: Organizational Day.
