To sit in, drive, or just drool over a G8, on Moday at 11:30 am.
I keep getting these emails, by different names from Jon Hall Pontiac/GMC, seems automated though. Pisses me off because if I was a salesman I would be calling up people, not pressing reply.
So I got a phone call from this chick today. She said she is with Jon Hall dealership and said she sees I am interested in 2008 cars. I am like ok, but what 2008 cars. So the whole time I am a jerk because I didn't want to be sold anything. So we carry on and she wants me to make an appointment. I tell her I am only interested in the G8 or GXP. And she says ok, lots of people been asking about that. I am like do you have any? She says 1, but it just sold. But on Monday we are getting a red one and an orange one. I say eewww! She says well you don't have to go with those colors. I tell her I am interested but not looking to buy anything and I don't want to waste anyones time. She says you won't waste anyones time just come on in on Monday. She says some guy will be there to explain the Pontiac Sweepstakes for the G8 also. I am like, ok I'll come in on monday. So we'll see how this goes, and I am not coming home with this car, unless they pay me too!!!

That's right man, stick it to them, lol. Some salesmen can be total jerks. I have met some good ones, but most are crackpots.

so does anyone have a GXP yet?

There isn't a GXP yet. I think it's scheduled for 09...?

Right now, it's just the G8 and G8 GT.

And those orange and red ones are amazing. You should take a look, I really like that blue/purple color though

Here is the thing though. Sure this beast boasts over 400HP, but it also weighs over 2 tons. I mean, don't you think that that would effect its abilities some?

As for the weight. It's been discussed but when you look at the competition they're all roughly 4k or more.

As for the Ute. GM is marketing it as a niche vehicle. Lutz said Chevy didn't get it because the chevy line is coming along nicely esp. with the new Malibu. He went on to say that it fit in with Pontiac's line up better. He admitted they don't expect to sell a ton of em.

Get this in the interview the last question was what car from GM do you want to drive the most out of all the current and upcoming vehicles? His answer without hesitation was the G8.


Ohhh and the Ute is a top seller in Australia.

As for the OT the salesperson fiqueres even though you don't plan on buying one she'll get you into the store you'll see the car fall in love with it and then she'll work her magic and next thing you know your placing the order for a black G8 GT.

HAHA, just got scammed, It is too early for me to get scammed again. Plus, big Plus, one of my buddies is a big wig manager over there now! And his dad is like the CEO, so I wouldn't walk out without a freakin deal!!!!

Dealerships know that they sale based on how many people come through the door. Cars sell themselves, it's just a matter of getting people in there to drool to the point they can't stand it and buy one. They don't care if you don't want to buy one... if you're weak enough you will.

Well I am furious now over the scam, so I don't feel weak. I just want to drool at one.

one other tactic that is prominent with promotions like this is just to get you into the showroom. Look at the G8, drive the G8 and thats if you can since there will most likely be line waiting to do the same.
Then the idea is if you cant afford or dont like the G8 is to show you something that you can afford...many dealers have tons of leftover models they want moved badly. The slumping economy is hitting them hard as well. One of my co-workers had his daughter go to one of these things at a Dodge dealer and she came home with an 07 Charger R/T just because they discounted $7000...granted thats a big chunk but the car was still over $25k and that doesnt make that Hemi get any better gas mileage.

The lady didn't call me back to confirm and I set another appointment to interview for a job. So I didn't make it. If I go, I go. If not then no big deal. I wouldn't buy the G8 until it hits the streets for a few months to a year anyways.

Well I stopped in to see my buddy, Sales Manager for Jon Hall dealership. He is at where the Corvettes are!! 40 in stock!
And he has a 2008 Black one, wow is it nice.
But he tried get me a Malibu, I said I don't want no freakin Malibu with 260 hp!
So he said go stop on down by Pontiac.
I went and saw two white G8s and the Orange one. I just did a quick walk around, nothing else. No one gave me the time of day. I didn't even see if were GTs or not. I saw one had single round tips and another had dual tips. I left, and no one helped me. I hope the lady calls back and I tell her I went there and no one cared to help, so what you plan to do woman!

I wasn't to impressed by the looks. Too rally car and BMW look alike, I do like some of the BMW cars though. I don't know, the internet pics are much better I think. I don't like the wheels, the concept wheels were sweeet!
