Too bad, as mentioned in the article, im afraid it looks like Pontiac is heading down the crapper. The G3? Are you kidding me???!!!!!

Doesn't look like pontiac will have anything cool after they release the G8 GXP for a while, if ever.

Not surprising.
They were looking at only selling 5,000 a year. Given the fact that GM went to congress with hat in hand doesn't look good to market a car you don't intend to make money on.

GM has stated they are looking at making Pontiac a "niche" brand. I see a two maybe three car lineup.

Here's what I for see
Solstice in three trim levels
G8 and it's three trims
and G3 pimped out to be the king of the hot hatches.

Its just too bad.

I doubt they will be getting rid of the G6 any time soon tho.

Those thigs sell like hotcakes, i hate to say it, but i dont think the G8 is gunna last must past when the gas prices go back up.

I kind knew that G8 was bad idea. There are lot of problems for laid off job, lot of business go out of business, gas price will increase, G8 is too pricy, and some Northern don't want buy RWD because it is not good for snow. I'm sure Pontiac will be gone like 2012. GM want to keep Chevy, Buick, Cadallic, and GMC. Dump rest of other brands out. That's how I remember that I read month ago. Oh well that's life.

The last thing GM needs is another car that isn't going to sell.

Well, if Pontiac goes out, then my first reaction would be to go back to being a Ford guy. But the new Mustang is a slow, weak-looking POS (and that's coming from a 'Stang lover), so that's out. That leaves the Camaro or Challenger - and the Challenger is a lot better looking, but seriously, I don't know if I could buy a Dodge.

Of course, I supposed I could buy a Civic, slap a couple dozen stickers on it, and be at 500whp instantly...lol NOT

*EDIT* If, that's a HUGE IF, I were to own an import, it would be a GT-R. That thing is sick.

The GTR is sick, its sad to say but the imports look cooler, cost less, get better mpg's.

Theres less and less reason to want an american car.

Ok the new Chevy Malibu looks alright. But it starts at 22 grand.

Now you can get a comparable KIA or Toyota for much less.

The golden age of american automobiles if not american automobiles is going to fade away.

Heck, we used to own the roads until the mid to late 80's.

Well if I had to pick, it would be a hyndai because I like the styling of the sonata, genesis, and the coupe car they have coming out.

American autos aren't going anywhere. Sure factories will close they'll make fewer cars but that's what needs to happen.

I've recently seen a report of the average age of cars on the road today. That age is nine. Just a few years ago that age was five. People aren't flipping cars like they use to. Wether people want to admit it or not NA cars have quality and it shows in how long people keep the same car.

All the manufacterers have to realize they made the new car market stagnant. The US won't be buying 20 million cars a year anymore. By the way did you see both Toyota and Honda had a larger sales drop off in December then GM? Toyota was down 38% Honda 35% GM was down 31% but one bright spot was I wanna say the Malibu showed an increase of sales.
