wasn't familiar with the group, didn't watch the video but read their wiki article... disgusting, no better than the KKK IMO. If they were picketing at someone I loved's funeral, I would go nuts...

wow....thats all i can say after seeing this. I have never heard of this family prior to this but if they were to show up at one of my relatives funerals who are currently serving im pretty sure I would blow a gasket!

The Westboro Baptist Church is why the Patriot Guard formed in the first place ( www.patriotguard.org ). it was organized to create a buffer zone between the *snicker* church and the grieving Hero's family and friends. Now they're a common sight at these funerals just to show support and make SURE that the service member was adequately escorted and respected. Check out the website. Both myself and Herc are members.

The church(LOL) is located in Topeka KS which is 150 miles north of me. Most town residents want them out. I am member of the American Legion Post that started the Patriot Guard and have ridden in many funerals. Coldest was 18 and warmest was 105. http://patriotguardks.org/history.htm

My friend was killed in Afghanistan this past October and they came up to protest at his funeral. The community heard about this and there was probably a thousand people there that kept these disgusting people way far from the funeral.

There isn't much of a problem with them here in Texas. There was a soldier from my town killed a couple years ago, and three whole people showed up to protest. There were a dozen cops keeping them away from where the service was, and those dozen cops were probably for their safety. You're liable to have a lynching mob form for doing that kind of thing around here.
