Has anyone heard of this problem? 58,000 miles on the car and the troque converter gave up the ghost sending crap all through the trany rendering in dead. GM says, sorry, won't help you. I don't race the car or pull anything with it plus 98% of the miles are with the cruise on. $3400.00 for a re-built. Should have bought a WRX!!! Help!

I've heard of a few people with GPs in general who have trouble around there, but normally they're aren't too many. Sounds like you were one of the unlucky ones. frown sorry

Did you ever get a transmission fluid power flush?

That is a tranny no no - dropping the pan and manually draining fluid is fine but using a powerflush machine and forcing cleaning agents under pressure through the tranny may damage delicate parts not meant to handle the PSI that cleaning pumps put out.

Just a guess - but all of the guys that have had "tranny power flush" done that I know personally have had their tranny crap out down the road.

I have 2 GPs (a 97 GT and a 2000 GTP), both ridden hard at times and I only do a pan drop and fluid fill, never had a single tranny problem.

Just my $.02 - good luck!

05 GXP, althought the warranty is 3 years or 36 months, and I see you have 58,000 miles but I say go and raise hell about that because thats a brand new car and it should not have any tranny problems.

have you ever got the transmission serviced since you owned the car. Like chew said don't ever get it flushed, just change the oil for it.
