Just bought an 04 GT2 and noticed red LED on dash left side under the air vents. Could not find any reference to this light in my manual. This light is always on driving or not driving, key in or key out. Its always on.
Anyone have an idea what this may be?

Thanks

That's a common spot for an installer to put a status light for a security system. Look under the dash, you'll probably find a module down there zip tied up and wires spliced in. Did it come with any remotes beside the stock ones?

Thanks jjcom
No other remotes came with car. Could I encounter any unwanted situations if I try to disable this and will this LED put a drain on my battery over time?

Removing it could be a small headache in itself, depending on how bad the installer hacked up the harness. Leaving it alone could cause a problem the first time you go to replace the battery since you don't have a remote to disarm the system. The LED pulls nearly no power so it won't drain the battery any noticeable amount. You might try going to a place like Mobile Audio or another place that services remote start systems and see if you could get a remote.
